Apparently this episode was a part of season one and got pushed back to this season for some reason.
Obvious in the canon of the she m show bc the ex-wife new lover bomb and Ed picking up the new recruit weren't even addressed. Weird

Awww man that better not be the last we see of Alara.

1st episode was ok, 2nd episode sucked up until about 3/4 of the way through before becoming hilarious.

Just finished ep. 3.
Man, that gave me the sad.
And Halston Sage as Alara is a smoke show.
Loved the callbacks to TNG (security officer leaving in second season), Enterprise (John Billingsly-Dr. Phlox as “the bad guy”); and Voyager (Robert Picardo -the holographic doctor as Alara’s dad)

I doubt she's gone, Mr. Double Esophagus is going to mess something up and she's going to have to fix it

The Orville Season 2 ThreadI doubt she's gone
Halston Sage is definitely leaving The Orville, due to a scheduling conflict with her role in "The Last Summer". The new security chief will be Jessica Szohr.

Robert Picardo was about the only thing I kind of liked this episode.

Holy shite. He was the cowboy in Innerspace. Mind blown.

I have a hard time determining if this is supposed to be a sci-fi space show focusing on relationships or a relationship show using space as a backdrop.

Yeah the beginning of season 2 has been a little too heavy on the relationship stuff. I'm enjoying it but can understand those who don't.
It looks like the Krill return next week so we might get an action heavy episode. Then again Captain Mercer may just have a sit down with them and hash out their differences.

Really liked that episode. A lot of good performances.
Her parting gift to Mercer was great.

I really liked Patrick Warburton as security chief Lt. Tharl. Too bad he can't continue.

Me either. It started out promising, but just turned out to be stupid. Two gay aliens sitting on an egg isn't high comedy to me. I think millenials will like it more than us baby boomers.

Bump for tonight’s episode!!

Only because they surgically alter any females that are born. Sounds pretty gay to me.

They are completely different types of shows. BSG is a serialized thriller, The Orville is more like traditional Star Trek which has an overall story arc but there's a lot of focus on Problem of the Week episodes.

Great episode tonight.
Hard to discuss without spoilers, but nice continuity.
