It's entertaining and enjoyable enough, but it's fully overrated on this board by some people. The action is great (which is where its credit is most deserved, no doubt), but outside of that it's not a particularly "good" movie. The acting is subpar and the plot is meh. But really, this movie is all about the action and special effects, most of which were done the old school way instead of CGI, which is pretty awesome.

I absolutely understand this view, even if I slightly disagree with it (I think it's a little better than you give it credit for). But I don't understand how people in this thread are calling it boring. Its a 110 minute movie, 90 minutes of which are straight action sequences. Its far from boring. If you don't like the lack of plotline or dialogue, that is a valid criticism, but calling it boring is just looking for a way to hate on the movie IMO.

Maybe you should watch it again.

Not sure what you call "action" but there was exactly 10 minutes of action in the first 50 minutes of the movie. First 20 minutes of dribble drabble, 10 minutes of action, 20 minutes of idiots not talking to each other in a truck.

If you didn't say in the opening credits that Tom Hardy was Max, you'd still have no idea who he is or what he's even in the movie for other than to help the main character, furioso.

It wasn't that hard to figure out

It's a visual masterpiece but not much past that.

As been said, visually awesome (aside from the frames being sped up through 80% of it), but that's about it. Not much substance.

Just finished it

Watched spotlight and mad max tonight

Movie was awesome looking, and a kick arse action flick

Have no idea how it was nominated for best picture. Spotlight was the better movie. Ex Machina should've been nominated over MM

I'm still hoping we get the black and white silent cut. I would pay so much money to see it in IMAX like this.

Never even considered that. That would be awesome.
