Frieza did nearly destroy an entire race...2 in fact except for 1 namekian and 1.5 saiyans. And who knows how many he did manage to wipe out offscreen.

Cell just wanted to be perfect. He wanted it so much he went back in time just to have a chance to achieve it and devoured who knows how many humans to get stronger than the androids.

Once he achieved perfection, he just wanted to prove to the world that he was the strongest. He may have eventually wanted to take over or destroy the universe, but we never find out.

He could have easily wiped everyone out (as could have Frieza instead of toying with Goku for so long). He toyed with Gohan for so long before he went SSJ2.

Frieza wanted to conquer the universe...or whatever quadrant King Kai owns...I don't know how Frieza, Cooler, and King Cold were dividing that shite.

I think Frieza was a better villain, but Cell was a better fight. His cockiness, the fact that he knew everyones moves and personalities, regeneration ability, etc.

I still think the ending of the Cell saga would have been the perfect way to end the series...

So Piccolo is back to having an attack that takes five minutes to charge...hope that one works out for him in the tournament.

I was pretty disappointed to see full-power Gohan even getting touched by SSJ Goku. Considering Goku's full power should be AT LEAST 100x his SSJ form.

At least a lot of it was him just outsmarting Gohan with clever distraction and instant transmission. Goku is still a genius in battle.

I just don't understand what Vegeta has been doing these past few days. I understand Bra was just born, but surely he would find time to train as well, right?

Vegeta is going to train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

Wjy not just throw Buu into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber until he wakes up?

Boom, problem solved. No wishing a dictator, who has blown up the world, back to life.

Besides, wasn't a point in F that Goku needed to stop dropping his guard so much? He gives Frieza another chance and the guy blows up the earth. So Whis has to reverse time and Goku kills Frieza. Did Goku forget all that?

If Frieza is only going to be brought back for 24 hours, why would he bother to help? It works out better for him to sabotage the tournament and cause all the remaining Saiyans to die along with Earth and the entire universe.

Cell is a much better pick. He is vain enough to watch to showcase his perfection to the rest of the universes. His Saiyan blood would want the challenge of facing tougher opponents. Plus you promise him a rematch with Gohan if they win.

Valid points, and I agree. I wish Buu was participating in this tournament.

Episode 90 was pretty incredible... It made no sense, but it was badass nonetheless.

It seems Toriyama finally figured out how huge of a fan favorite Goyan is...and will be featuring him heavily in the Tournament. Maybe he will be the one to reach the non-transforming, god of destruction type level we have all been speculating about. After all, his abilities are virtually limitless, right?

By the way, I thought that final fight between father and son was one of the best fight sequences in the history of the Dragonball. It just felt so epic, especially that final collision.

That final collision with the epic music was just incredible. Extremely well done, they did Gohan justice. FINALLY.

When Gohan is relevant, he's awesome. Always has been. Just sucks that we rarely get to see that badass locked away inside himself. Hopefully, he sticks around this time.

This is the perfect arc for him to realize there's so much more danger in the universe and he should always be ready to defend earth and be as strong as possible because Goku and Vegeta won't always be there.

Edit: technically, Bell and Buu arcs were the perfect arcs but you know.

I had such a nerd boner for ep 90. Seeing Gohan be so badass again was amazing. The only time I felt more excited was when Gohan went SSJ2 vs Cell. That is tops for me.

It would seem odd if a tournament where no one is direct threatening his family is what pushes him to give up his studies.

His dad died trying to defeat Cell and Gohan stops training after Cell is defeated.

Buu kills everyone, included his mom and Vadel, and Gohan doesn't try to get stronger than what he was when he couldn't defeat him.

Frieza comes back and Goku nearly dies. Gohan still didn't train.

Why train now after the tournament of power?

Because I don't give a shite what causes it as long as it happens. I kind of hope someone kills Videl to send him so far off the edge he never returns. When's the last time we had a meaningful death? 16? And by meaningful I mean they stayed dead.

It is out of Gohan's character, but whatever. It's what the people want!

They need to have someone from another universe kidnap Pan and Gohan fail to stop it, even with his new power level.

That could be the onw thing that would make him never want to stop getting stronger, protecting his daughter.

Belmond (the one that looks like a clown) could find out from his angel that Universe 7 has gotten significantly stronger in such a short amount of time, including Goku. Finding out that Gohan is team leader, he sends one of his Pride Warriors to kidnap Pan in hopes of making him forfeit.

They already have shown that they want to destroy anything they view as evil, and they see Goku as evil. Toppo could even find out and be appalled by his teammates actions and help rescue Pan. Even try to make it a twist by not showing who kidnapped Pan and reveal that Toppo has an extremely twisted view of justice and was the one who kidnaped her.

Just a few ideas to get Gohan being serious and give him some chances at some badass scenes.
