Yeah, hopefully he will keep fighting and training. Would love for him to be relevant again. He took a step in the right direction in tonight's episode.

I thought if both people were down, the first person to get up and say "I win" won.
I thought it was a nice callback to the Goku vs Jackie Chun fight. I know they aren't honoring the Earth/Universe 7 rules, but it would have been nice to see Gohan win for once.

At first, I thought it was BS. Then I thought about it and the Grand Priest did say the fight would be concluded when competitors can no longer continue to fight, or Zen-Oh was satisfied with the fight.

So if Goku wins (really, whoever wins) he gets a wish from the super dragon balls. Why won't he just wish for the other universes that are destroyed to be brought back?

He could, but that would be going against Zen-Oh. Who already feels there are too many universes.

He probably will, and it will be the impetus for the next arc. Zeno-chan has already destroyed 6 universes, and we don't know why. So Goku wishes back all the universes Zeno has destroyed, accidently wishing back the ones previously destroyed, and we get a bunch of bigs bad from those universes.
My best guess at least.
I also get the idea that Zeno-chan will no longer be the top dog over all things at the end of this arc. Just a sneaky suspicion.

I think the Kais and God's of destruction from the doomed universes band together, OR the head priest has something sneaky going on and is tired of Zeno's capricious and innocent manner. I bet Zeno destroyed the angels in those other 6 universes, angels who were the priest's children.

Maybe so. We haven't seen any extra angels. And it's been stated that if Zen-Oh erases a Universe, the angels don't die with it. Maybe he destroyed them some other way.

Interesting that they are making the all-universe tournament a battle royale. I guess that makes sense why Goku would want Krillin and Tien and not revive Frieza or Cell or something. I am excited to see 17 back in the fold and giving the other non-saiyans something to do for once.

I loved cocky Goku in this episode. It's like he's regressed to his saiyan instincts. Also the reaction from the other Gods when he powered up was quite telling

It's going to be interesting to see how Funimation will try to spin Goku being effectively an anti-hero. It'll be a huge departure from the DBZ "Hero" Goku

I doubt it. He's not a bad guy and the viewers know it. I suspect Toppo wants to find out for himself and will show the Gods that Goku has no ill intentions.

Toriyama has stated multiple times that Goku isn't a hero in that sense. He's out to fight stronger people, the American dub is what made him into a righteous hero. The Japanese, especially now since Toriyama is involved shows him in a much different light.
