Goku and Vegeta fusion has been confirmed

It's still speculation. One of the Japanese VA's said they were recording duo lines with someone. Speculation is fusion, but some are saying it's for a game, not Super. There are mixed signals on who the other VA is, 2 separate names are floating around.

Well, remember that Vegeta isn't the only person there with them. He could fuse with the Supreme Kai to kind of mirror Zimasu...although yeah, Vegeta is much more likely.

Though at this point I think they send the Kais back to the past to retrieve the seal they need for the jar. Then they can use Mafuba again. Because according to the preview, Zamasu squared is still immortal.
I could also see Goku accidently hitting the "Zeno" button he was given. Calling in the head honcho of all 12 universes to come in and take care of this mess. Since his power is above that of the super dragonballs.

God Damn it. That is exactly what will happen. Actually, at this point I would be surprised if Goku and/or Vegeta are the reason Zimasu is defeated. It has to be someone like Beerus, Whis, the Kais, or the God of All

so Trunks has two sensu beans...but doesn't give one to his dad at the end of the episode...he just sits there yelling like an idiot.
But obviously Geets is OK as they do show our favorite fusion in the preview of the next episode.

He better be. Vegeta was more powerful than Black, and Goku was far more powerful than Zamasu. Them together in base mode would be more powerful than Black in Rose. SSB Vegito should be on par with the most powerful beings in all the universes combined.
I'm hoping they keep them together for the next arc, which is the multi-universe tournament Zeno decided to host.
I also want to see SSB Vegito pull Kaiokenx10. Would be insanely fun to watch.

There must be some kind of limit. If you look at the same preview Vegito is shown in. Zamasu's halo of light is gone, and 1 half of his body seems to be transforming. It's purple, much larger than normal, and misshapen.
Something else I noticed in this last episode. When he fires a bolt of light at either Goku or Vegeta, he says something close to "Light of justice, strike the evil one's heart." The bolt ends up hitting Zamasu instead....in the heart. Wonder if he does have some sort of access to a Godly justice power, but doesn't realize it's attacking him instead of the "evil mortals".
I didn't word that very well, but I think ya'll get the idea.

Just watched the episode so I am late to the party but I have to say I did not like that episode. It made little sense.
So all the sudden Potaro fusions are not permanent to mortals...even though it's been established that they were in the past (although no real explanation was given for them unfusing inside Super Buu)
Trunks somehow not only can turn his sword into a lightsaber, but he also somehow learned the Spirit Bomb and can summon energy and put it into his sword effortlessly. Put it this way, Trunks spirit bomb in this episode compared to Goku's against Buu is like Gohan's kamehameha against Cell versus Goku's first one in Dragonball. Where the frick did Trunks get all this power? I know he gets his arse kicked a lot, but Zenkai boosts alone should not be enough to make him as strong as fricking SSJB Goku or Vegeta.

Personally, I was really looking forward to Goku and Vegeta being fused together for the entire next arc and seeing the comedy associated with it as well as them kicking arse in the multiverse tournament. It seemed logical to me that the Super Dragon Balls could have been used to unfuse them eventually (if the Earth balls were too weak-though the Namekian balls were able to unfuse the Kais).

The arc was about Trunks so I'm glad he got the kill. Someone other than fricking Goku at least.
I hope for the next arc they focus on Beerus actually being the person who destroyed planet Vegeta (ordered Freeza to). The reaction from Vegeta after finding this out would be awesome, and a good reason for him to take on Beerus in Blue form.

I love the fact that a lot of depth and questions about the original series are answered in these episodes.
Why did Gero hate Goku so much?
How did Hercule win a martial arts tournament when Puar, Oolong, or Chichi could take him out in an instant and Yamcha or Tien would kill him with a flick?
Etc.
Also Chichi basically killing Goku with snu snu and "Going for Ten" is pretty clever.
