One of Nolan’s previous films (Oppenheimer) did it meeting two of the off-screen requirements. And won the award for Best Picture.

I know, but that's not what I asked. Are you avoiding the question for a reason?

He's also worked with Page in the past so it's not like this was something new. And Luptia is a fantastic actor as well

Another false claim, it’s been repulsed multiple times. Again when you face facts you start lying. It’s your pattern

You’re suggesting with your question that the Academy won’t look at the movies the same in your suggested scenario.

They apparently did already.

It's a stupid casting and Hollywood types will say whatever they want to say but will avoid the truth.

They'll then wonder why their industry is dying and blame people who want to just be entertained, and not subjected to the message.

Enjoy the slop.

You guys have devolved into the argument that “if it’s in the movie it has to be good”. The last refuge of a failed argument.

Please elaborate.

Explain why it doesn’t matter to you that a Russian played Ramses an Egyptian pharaoh or Moses was played by An American of Scottish and English descent.

Both roles have FAR more screen time and FAR more influence on the narrative than lupita

What part of "all things being equal" did you not understand? Just say you don't want to answer if you're uncomfortable with it.

When your entire argument ends up being nothing but buzzwords you kind of don't have an argument anymore

The movie is killing with critics and the audience and is doing insane numbers at the box office

That wasn't my argument the frick?

It's a 3000 year old story based on myths nobody aside from the culture war obsessed people actually gave a frick and that's become extremely evident

And I answered with the Academy has shown all things being equal that if it’s a quality movie they’ll still be able to win best picture with behind the scenes requirements.

I don’t need to come up with some hypothetical because it actually happened .

Killing with critics is a clown argument.

Of course it is.

They have the pro antifa movie all thumbs up last year.

They're going to always support the message.

Again you’re misrepresenting what I said. You and those like you are comparing something being experienced by posters to something that happened before the overwhelming majority of them were born. On top of that you’re just asserting they agreed with those from 70 years ago without even asking. It’s completely dishonest

There was another movie like Oppenheimer that year? I really don't think you know what the phrase means.

I'll ask another way: do you think Hollywood, the people who vote on these absurd circle jerk awards, value a lead or supporting actor as much as the guy on camera #4?

Ben Shapiro called Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” a “masterpiece” despite the conservative outrage about the film's cast and historical accuracy:

I wasn't the one stomping my feet about the casting of two characters with mere minutes of screen time

I asked you to elaborate.

You have posted all over this board how you didn’t like the movie and that casting was a major issue in it.

Maybe I am mistaken and you are in the 0.1% of people who despise the Ten Commandments.

If not I welcome you to elaborate on how it didn’t affect your immersion (as that is a phrasing y’all have tended to use) for that movie but it did with this
