Like I've said the entire trial portion of the show is absolutely stupid. The defense's expert testimony was the most realistic part of the trial that has happened (disregarding the prosecutor being stupidly close without asking to approach the witness once). In the end though the story has the potential of having a satisfying ending which would be nice.

It wasn't that realistic. He could have sunk her during her last question, i.e. The 4th knife could have been lost or eaten up by the garbage disposal... OR WAS WALKED OUT BY THE ACTUAL MURDERER

I have also read a lot of criticisms about the prison story all being very unrealistic too. Nas wouldn't be meeting with his attornies and family like that. There is a different protocol for capital defendents. Etc.

Her entire line of questioning was either irrelevant or completely speculative in nature

The midwater would have known the knife was in the drawer if they are implying it was that knifes twin, since murderer didn't go into kitchen and see Naz? So murderer knew where the knives were or brought his own or Naz did it with that knive?

Or any knife in the world with a 4"-5" blade
Also in this world are lawyers not allowed to object? Can't be overstated how bad those trial scenes were

The other part I have a hard time understanding ois how this seemly nice, shy, awkward and timid kid from the first episode turns into a character from Oz in prison. And not going to touch on the high school violence surprises.

Yep. Take your protection. Sit in your cell. Mind your business. Go through your trial.

Or shave your head and get prison tats so you look like a murderer at trail.

His protection came with the price of doing whatever Omar said.

They're going to end it with John Stone being the killer and him covering it up the entire time. The cat is his trophy.
The woman at the beginning of the episode was the black female hooker Stone was with. Which proves there's a serial killer on the streets.

Was it really the same girl?? I didn't notice it was specifically her...I thought it was just some scene to show that nobody cares when poor black hookers are killed, but when a rich white girl gets stabbed to death the media explodes.
It does make sense though if he IS the killer, why else would he have gone back in the precinct that night after seeing Naz, he knew he could get in on the ground level and block anything pointing to him. Maybe the feet thing is far bigger than we realize and there will be excema dna in the house? Maybe the final scene is some huge "Usual Suspects" type of reveal where Naz in convicted and Turturro puts on a motorcycle helmet, has the real knife and rides away?
....oh who the hell knows, I just want this damn show to end so I don't have to watch it anymore....

I like how all the evidence is paraded out in everybody's hands with no regard for forensics. They have the bloody knife just being whirled around by the attorneys with no gloves on. Zika hep C AIDS is just flying around the courtroom.

I'm half way through episode 2 and I can safely say it was the stepdad

So he chased "Duane" from the back of store through the alleys and tunnels to kill him bc Duane was an initial witness?
Things have become so dumb, it wouldn't surprise me if true.

He was wearing gloves on during that scene. Something he didn't do when he met other suspects.

This show is starting to border on being a comedy.
Like so many others have said, this show had tremendous potential (maybe one that could go on to be a full time series) but it ran off the tracks. Wasted time, failure to recognize the obvious, unrealistic legal incompetence ( a defense attorney would have been objecting to more than half of the ADA's questioning...just to name one area), introducing suspects but doing nothing to follow up on them. The list of poor writing is long.
The show has been slow but is still entertaining and the acting is good. It certainly has benefited from the fact that there's nothing else on TV at its time slot worth watching.

And then you had the defense introducing new evidence in their questioning of Box. Doesn't work that way. Can't just say that Duane Reed was there. You need Bodie to testify to that. And I'm not saying you need to show that questioning. Just have her say "and as we learned from mr bodie's testimony he was not alone that night..."

Yep!
A real ADA would have objected and stated that defense counsel was testifying (making statements...not asking questions). If she wants to be a witness, put her on the stand!
