No. I don't have a "deep seated" hatred for liberals. Half of my friends are liberals. I like them fine. This show is crap because it's completely manipulative. They are pawning everything off as absolutely true with no other version of the debate because, as is the premise of their show, it's FACT. Which is bullshite. They're creating a new way to exploit and influenced those who are uninformed and it's clear.
I have respect for Sorkin because the west wing is my all time favorite show. He took a show that could have been off the deep end liberal and kept it in the middle for the most part. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt here but he's in a losing battle with me right now.
But please go on....

It's a fictional TV show. It's never presented itself as anything else. If people are dumb enough to let a fictional TV show influence their political views then that's on them for being a bunch of morons.
That's fine if you don't like it, but the perception of some idiots who can't tell that it's not a real news show is a shoddy reason to not like it.

This. If someone wants to take this show as fact then they're the saddest form of the human race and were going to be make poor ill informed decisions to begin with.
However I would probably no longer respect a man who seems to be "manipulating" people to the extent that you claim Sorkin is doing.

It's not perception. It's intent.

I'm a deeply rooted Republican and I love the show. I don't take it as a political vehicle, but an entertaining piece of film.
Jeff Daniels has done a wonderful job of portraying a news anchor who is trying to educate masses while retaining a very comprehensible sense of humor. The weed cookies during the Osama episode was hilarious.
Waterston is fantastic as Charlie and the supporting characters (albeit know-it-alls) are great.
Stop looking at it from a political point of view and just enjoy the show. I thought I would hate it from the previews and it has completely suprised me on how good it is. I love Terry Crews' role. The Osama episode was done extemely well. I'm not an Obama fan, but the voiceover of him reporting bin Laden's death throughout the credits was very well done.

Yeah, the intent to produce an entertaining fictional show for the sake of entertainment.

You and I clearly see it differently. I'm glad you enjoy the show, I wish I could.

Exactly.
Leave your personal political opinions elsewhere when you start watching the show.

It's really difficult for me to enjoy bullshite for an entire hour - especially bullshite that I just don't agree with.

If we all believed what HBO was putting out there would be a huge vampire population in the state of Louisiana.
And Jackson, Mississippi would be a huge werewolf gathering point.

And that's perfectly fine for me. I just don't see the point in watching and bitching about the direction of the show at almost the end of the first season. If it evokes that much disdain just don't watch (and I'm speaking in general, not specifically to you).

I like this show a lot but I'm worried this is happening as well. People are really stupid an will believe everything they here

Then Real Time, John Stewart and The Colbert Report would've already gotten to them.

Well that's it. Time to start vetting shows because we're inching closer to idiocracy and people are no longer safe to watch.
True Blood? Realistic setting with satire of political and religious nature? People could think Vampires, Werewolves, Fairies, and Shape Shifters exist. BOOM. Gone.
Game of Thrones? That whole competing for crowns are too much like real history. People could think dragons are real. BOOM. Outta here.
Mad Men? They use real live companies for their advertising. DON DRAPER IS REAL!! People might think they can lead a double life and whore around without catching the clap while losing their moral compass. Can't have that. Gonzo.

Breaking Bad? Can't have more people making meth... scrap it

I happen to love this show. I agree with the politics, love the actors, and think it's just another in a long line of superb HBO dramas.

To those complaining about the perceived political leanings of this show, I have this to say: There are PLENTY of well known conservatives in show business. There are plenty of conservative/right leaning people or corporations :cough:Koch brothers, Bain Capital:cough: with plenty of money to bankroll or "executive" produce a TV show or Movie espousing conservative views, and "traditional family values", as the right is wont to say.
I would welcome a well-written, well-produced, well-acted show coming from the conservative point of view.

This is such bullshite. It's fricking entertainment, but the producers happen to have a different point of view than you do. I never cease to be amazed at the power that the right cedes to the "liberal media". As if people can't think for themselves.
