Only 10

May be hard to fit five more between February and May, but given the political leaning, I could see them forcing it. There may be a few minor news/character and relationship developing episodes to fill out the ten. OBL is a pretty big "win" Sorkin might want to go out with.

Anyone think there is a chance he flips the theme for an episode to give some semblance of balance? At this point, it would be a surprising twist, but the window of opportunity is there since they are keeping the fact that Will is a republican at the forefront.

Keep in mind that you have the April 27 Tornados and the Royal Wedding coming up too. Brian Williams chose to fly back to the US to cover the tornados over covering the wedding. That could be a possible storyline.

Tsunami in Japan, tornadoes in Bama, royal wedding. That's 3 episodes.

Next week is clearly none of the above and that would be episode 5.

The other three could be 6,7,8... All they would need is one more filler before episode 10 bin Laden

thinking about big news stories of 2011.. i looked them up..

Casey Anthony - dont know the trial/verdict date though

Japan earthquake/tsunami - March 11, so this has to be in the next couple of episodes

Royal Wedding - April.. im sure they will mock this as a non story, and rightfully so, imo

OBL - May 1.. has to be the season finale 'Obama got him' episode

Unemployment - rated as the 5th biggest news story of the year.. but mostly later in the year.. im guessing this gets glossed over by Sorkin anyway

Arab Spring - set for next episode

they've got enough to get them to 10.. especially with the interoffice relationship crap

Is the royal wedding something they would focus on? It's neither political nor breaking/nationally important. Is that keeping with the MO of "newsroom 2.0"?

That was a pretty great fricking ending

Agreed. Done really well. Went back and watched the last 15 mins a second time shortly after the episode ended.

Poor Will and his luck with women.

It was interesting to me that Don was at the pinnacle (to this point) of his douchiness earlier in the episode but was pretty GD awesome with his call during the Gifford shooting.

5/1 is the title of Episode 7. So I am curious to see which direction they choose to go in following it and how we get there. Tonight's episode was great, the ending made me think about where I was when I heard about the shooting in AZ and the response I had to it at the time.

The whole Obama love Fest was a bit much for me. Quit pretending he is a republican if all youre going to focus on is republican bashing. Obama hasn't taken any gun rights away. But he sure as hell did bring it up during the election and what his views were. They took a tiny piece and made it a whole story that was based on misguided truths. I liked the show but I'll quit watching if the whole purpose is going to be left wing propaganda during an election year.

Yeah the ending saved it from being pretty awful. The Bigfoot stuff was so forced and unfunny. "omg he just won't give up on this! LOL!"

The only way its brought up IMO is if it was in the scenario in which I mentioned above. I could see the network forcing Will to cover the wedding in order to improve his ratings and then the disaster strikes in the South, causing Will to scramble back to the states. That's basically what Brian Williams had to do.

I don't know if it will happen or not, but that's interesting angle to take if they are looking for filler between the Gifford story and Bin Laden.

They could easily focus on characters instead of news stories for a few episodes if they wanted. It might even help save the show.

the political stuff is getting pretty heavy handed, making it tough to ignore and just "enjoy the show"

I didn't mind calling out rush and palin for fear mongering with the whole "Obama wants your guns" bullshite. They have that coming. But then you have the scene in his apartment with the chick and her gun, well now you're just lecturing me with your views of gun control and then you tie that in with the Gifford shooting. Come on.

There was also the "hey I'm a registered republican I just believe hurricances aren't caused by gay marriage" line, lumping them all in a far right religous loon bunch. Not exactly even handed stuff for a show trying to pretend its wanting to bring about an era of political discourse.

Two things really bothered me about that line.

1. He keeps telling me he's a registered republican, yet he's done nothing to show me that he is. I can say I'm an NBA caliber athlete all day, but it doesn't change the fact I'm an out of shape white guy.

2. Hurricanes are caused by low pressure, not high pressure as he said. They aren't caused by gay marriage, but they certainly aren't caused by high pressure.

Show is pretty solid.

Can't wait until he exposes the morons on the left too.

Yeah Sorkin seems to be hiding behind this,

I'm sure the Osama episode will have some flashback that is revealed at the end to be on September 11th. It will be something about Will meeting the producer lady.

If I recall, the Osama news came out at like 9PM. The whole episode will be set throughout that whole May 1 with them talking about some fight they had in the past. They'll drop the Osama bomb and type "May 1, 2011" across the bottom. Then they'll show the original fight or Will and producer calling in sick for work the day after their first vacation to Poundtown or something. Then they'll show the towers from his giant windows. Then the courier font across the bottom typing "September 11, 2001."

Wasn't OBL was dead announced on a Sunday night? Didn't they kill him Saturday night, take the body to the carrier and bury him at sea before they announced the next day?

Pretty tough for the to have a "live" Will Mcavoy show on OBL when they were all off for the weekend
