Cast Away is the ONLY performance worth noting by Hanks in the last 15 years.

Road to Perdition was one of the best movies last decade.

I don't get the Conster hate he's been in some good ones:

The Untouchables
No Way Out
Open Range

Revenge & A Perfect World I always thought were extremely underrated.

I really liked Costner's performance in The Upside of Anger. I'm surprised that he hasn't done more comedies. He always seemed to be much more natural and charismatic in his comedic scenes than dramatic scenes.

Not sure about that. HAVE you seen NO WAY OUT. One of his BEST PICS that nobody talks about.

One of those few remakes that's as good as the original.

Road to Perdition was a good movie because of Paul Newman and Jude Law. Hanks didn't give a noticeable performance by any means. He was just there.

Disagree. It was not a role that called for much emoting. He was a mob enforcer, a killer who kills in an instant on order without a blink of an eye. Yet when his family gets murdered and he's one the road away from it all with his lone surviving son you could start to see the emergence of a soul. I thought it was one of his better performances in a role you usually don't see him in.

Not arguing that he has been in some good movies. It's just his acting I can't take. Can't help thinking when I watch some of his movies, how great would this movie be if Costner wasn't in it.

I liked the Terminal, Catch Me If You Can, and Road to Perdition, which were all from the last decade. Hanks was phenomenal in Castaway which was only a little over a decade ago. I think he's just more focused on producing now.

Everything in this is spot on.

Tom Hanks is still a great actor. I do wish he would do a good comedy again. He's pretty funny.

Not all time, but I think DiCaprio is a good actor who picks good roles but not as great as everyone makes him out to be.

I like him in most of his movies but I don't think I've been blown away by any of his performances.

I was pretty blown away in catch me if you can. I think he also did a he'll of a job in J. Edgar. Terrible movie, but I thought his performance was fantastic.

DiCaprio will be really good after he hits 50. He's aging in a great way...

This is a good thread. Penn can get on my nerves but I really liked him in At Close Range, I Am Sam, and 21 Grams. Hanks performance in Catch Me If You Can will keep him off my hit list forever. Costner and Cage play themselves too much, but Leaving Las Vegas and Fandango bail them out enough for me. If I had to pick an overrated actor whose success I will never understand it would have to be this guy:

Damn, Tom Hanks bang your ol' lady or something? He's one of the best of our generation. They don't just hand out Oscars to scrubs dude, he's been nominated for best actor 4 times. Winning twice, should have been three.

Adam Sandler.

I like him as a person, but most of his movies nowadays are just awful.

Captain Jack Sparrow started a phenomenon.

And don't you talk about Sweeney Todd that way!
