Agree. But I think they are both capable of subtlety when they put their minds to it. See Lord of War for Cage and, as for Travolta, see Love Song for Bobby Long (mediocre movie, although I met the director while she was in town and she thought it would bring Travolta an Oscar . . . delusional) and Phenomenon.

Maybe it's not quite in the category, since he's not regarded as one of the great actors, but Keanu Reeves is maybe the actor to make the most money and have the biggest films while sucking at actual acting.
I actually LOVE The Matrix, and he's been in some decent films, but the dude can't act.

Robert Deniro.
Same character in every movie. Same facial expressions. He's good as a hitman/mobster/cop type...but he takes that persona in every role.

Seriously, how the frick is Don Cheadle overrated as an actor? I mean, I can understand why people would consider Denzel or Samuel L. Jackson or Cuba Gooding to be overrated but Don Cheadle? Don Cheadle is one of the finest actors in Hollywood. The man's a chameleon who rarely gives a bad performance. And he isn't hyped at all like a Denzel Washington or Samuel L. Jackson is.

I was gonna say Denzel. He's pretty much the same guy in all his movies. That said, I love his movies.
I don't see how Don Cheadle is overrated. He's pretty underrated, actually. Him and Brendan Gleeson, which is why the Guard was one of the best movies of the year.
But Denzel is only recently. I'd have to say that the most overrated of all time might be Audie Murphy. Guy was a helluva soldier... not so much an actor.
My wife says Mel Gibson. Because she's smoking crack... Or, you know, he's smoking crack... Whatevs.
