When the T Rex rips down the cables and crawls out of the fence in Jurassic Park. One of the sickest scenes in movies. Still get chills when I see it.

Holy cow, I crapped myself.

That whole sequence/multiple chapters had me on edge. It was nuts.
As far as a movie, the end of Se7en. From the time they get in the cab right down to the box aftermath. Just incredibly intense.

I'm drawing a complete and total blank. Tell me in the crackpot thread it's been awhile since I've reread

Sean: So if I asked you about art, you’d probably give me the skinny on every art book ever written. Michelangelo, you know a lot about him. Life’s work, political aspirations, him and the pope, sexual orientations, the whole works, right? But I’ll bet you can’t tell me what it smells like in the Sistine Chapel. You’ve never actually stood there and looked up at that beautiful ceiling; seen that. If I ask you about women, you’d probably give me a syllabus about your personal favorites. You may have even been laid a few times. But you can’t tell me what it feels like to wake up next to a woman and feel truly happy. You’re a tough kid. And I’d ask you about war, you’d probably throw Shakespeare at me, right, “once more unto the breach dear friends.” But you’ve never been near one. You’ve never held your best friend’s head in your lap, watch him gasp his last breath looking to you for help. I’d ask you about love, you’d probably quote me a sonnet. But you’ve never looked at a woman and been totally vulnerable. Known someone that could level you with her eyes, feeling like God put an angel on earth just for you. Who could rescue you from the depths of hell. And you wouldn’t know what it’s like to be her angel, to have that love for her, be there forever, through anything, through cancer. And you wouldn’t know about sleeping sitting up in the hospital room for two months, holding her hand, because the doctors could see in your eyes, that the terms “visiting hours” don’t apply to you. You don’t know about real loss, ’cause it only occurs when you’ve loved something more than you love yourself. And I doubt you’ve ever dared to love anybody that much. And look at you… I don’t see an intelligent, confident man… I see a cocky, scared shitless kid. But you’re a genius Will. No one denies that. No one could possibly understand the depths of you. But you presume to know everything about me because you saw a painting of mine, and you ripped my fricking life apart. You’re an orphan right?
quote:
Sean: You think I know the first thing about how hard your life has been, how you feel, who you are, because I read Oliver Twist? Does that encapsulate you? Personally… I don’t give a shite about all that, because you know what, I can’t learn anything from you, I can’t read in some frickin’ book. Unless you want to talk about you, who you are. Then I’m fascinated. I’m in. But you don’t want to do that do you sport? You’re terrified of what you might say. Your move, chief.

Want that scene shot in one take? Or at least seemed like it.
My wife adopted a little girl out if the foster system before we got married, and knowing what some of those kids go through, the "it's not your fault" scene is even harder.

"FREEEEEDDOOOOOOMMM" still gets me.
In Jaws, when he is scuba diving and finds the boat, and the dead head floats in through the hole. I know it's coming and it still gives me chills.

the whole balrog scene.
"You Shall Not Pass" phenomenal
"Fly, you fools" and then he drops. I thought he was a goner.

Exactly. The whole Balrog scene, I was sitting there with goosebumps thinking... "this is what a movie is supposed to be"

I get choked up with the music at that point. And having not read the books, I couldn't believe that had happened.

"Good morning. Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world, and you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. Mankind, that word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences any more. We will be united in our common interest. Perhaps it's fate that today is the 4th of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom. Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution, but from annihilation. We're fighting for our right to live, to exist and should we win the day, the 4th of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world declared in one voice, 'We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on, we're going to survive.' Today we celebrate our independence day!"
Im sorry, I couldnt resist.

Maybe not chills per say, but my favorite starting scene in a move is from "The way of the Gun"
"you better shut that count mouth before I come over there and frick start her head"

Oh man, the getaway scene after they kidnapped the girl was priceless, constantly getting in and out of their cars
