Anyone dive into all 3 yet? Got Disney + and re-subscribed to HBO for the first time post GoT. Got a lot of free time on my hands the next few weeks and was wanting a general consensus and/or spoiler-free opinions on these shows as they seem to be the most popular to watch right now. Any particular order they should be watched in?

Will be watching all 3 with Rick & Morty on the side. Fun to have new episodes of shite to look forward to again

You can catch up on Mandalorian in 45 minutes. It's great.
Watchman is great as well. Five episodes in. If you're not all in by the third episode it's not for you.
I tried His Dark Matters and lost interest in the first episode.

Seek help .... you're talking an overdose scenario here.

PS: I have yet to start Mandalorian but I'm deep into the other two at the moment which is all my nugget can handle at once.

I was iffy on Watchmen at first but damn has it gotten good.
His Dark Materials didn't hesitate to start popping off, i have really enjoyed that series so far.
Don't have Disney+ yet but I was never super into Star Wars so i cant help there.

And R+M so far so good. First episode back was hysterical, the last one wasn't as good but still had its moments.

Exactly my thoughts. I am still going to give Dark Materials a shot. It’s just low on the tv priority list.

If you watch the Watchmen movie or better yet read the trade, it’s worth it. That show is getting tremendously better each week.

I watched the first episode of watchmen. I thought it was terrible. Does it get better?

I know absolutely nothing about The Watchmen. Would I be lost starting the series or do I need to watch/read something else before?

Yep.

Im enjoying all 3.

They are all good in different ways so its hard to say which one to watch first. But you really dont have that much to catch up on.

A ton of people on here HATED ep 1 of Watchmen, but if you ride it out and dont get blinders on from the race issue, it moves away from that and this last episode was almost perfect. It gets better with every episode.

His Dark Materials starts off strong and does a lot of character building in episodes 2 and 3. Looks like the action is going to take off in episode 4.

The Mandalorian you can watch in one sitting.

This is a pleasant surprise. I really liked parts of the first two episodes, just was feeling a little overwhelmed by the race issue. I just personally don't like any show that focuses solely on current political issues...I want to enjoy my TV. I have the other 3 episodes still on DVR, I'll have to binge them this weekend.

It would be best obviously to read the novel but I would watch the movie. Just so you would know some of the characters they introduce.

There's a big difference in the ending of the movie and the book, and the show follows the books ending, so if you do watch the movie, ask somebody the difference between the ending

The last few episodes have tied back in to the novel. At first it didnt even seem like a Watchmen show. But it does get much better and focus less on race. Not to really give anything away but the last two episodes the race aspect goes away imo.

Watchmen lost me about halfway through the 2nd episode.

Mandalorian is solid entertainment...I guess maybe Rogue One quality? Solid but if it wasn't Star Wars no one would care about it basically.

Have not seen Dark Materials.

Yes. They spend the first two episodes building up this race war background and then with the third episode they start bringing in new characters and concepts that balance the entire thing.

Unequivocally yes.

Read the Watchmen trade paperback if you want a thorough understanding of the pretext. Alternatively, the movie will suffice but, like Iwy said, come here to get the book ending as it plays heavily into the show.

His Dark Materials is excellent. Great sets, acting, judicious use of cgi.
