People who liked it tried to make everyone who didn't, feel like they "just didn't get it". But the reality is we did get it, it was just poorly executed. The game was good, but for the story.
I'm just catchinh up on this season and I am so glad that we have this thread without any game spoilers...

Especially given that they all seemed to disagree with Abby's methods. They obeyed her but all were reluctant. If you followed a person around for 5 years looking for her dads murderer, I don't think you'd be so squeemish when you find him and she does what she has planned from the beginning.

Maybe I am misremebering buyt didn't the doctor tell joel he couldn't take the girl and grab a scalpel while moving toward him. That seems like a threat to me.
Also as long as the doctor lives, the Fireflies will want Ellie. Without a doctor to perform the surgery, there is no reason to kill Ellie.

Well yes, telling a non gamer that we are going to have a perspective change is a spoiler. Maybe they don't really go that route but I'd have assumed that Ellie and/or Tommy become the main character, not Abby.

yeah, it makes a pretty big difference but Roaaad hates the story and doesn't care about spoiling it.
it could be assumed we wouldn't see Abby again until the last episode without spoilers
