Some people literally can't help themselves.

Those weren't spoilers.

And Jesus, MLS. You might want to take a break for a bit, dude.
But he is right. That shite was cringe AF and not necessary at all. I wouldn't mind if they left out all sex in the show - especially that. It was disgusting.

Also, while the gay v. straight thing truly didn't make a difference to me, it was odd seeing Ron Swanson kiss a dude at first
. Got used to after a bit, but he'll forever be Ron to me and the first part of his story in the episode felt very "Ron Swanson-ish". Prepper, hates the government, laughs at zombie getting head blown off while eating red meat, etc.

I am so sorry that shirtless men disgust you so much. You must come home with PTSD after an afternoon at the beach or the pool.
Maybe I just somehow watched a censored version of the episode. I missed all the booty sex and flopping dicks that a few posters keep bringing up.

Honestly when I read "in the game" I just stopped reading since it's the non game thread.

I think the general idea is that this thread is for no game talk at all, only show talk.
Not "differences between the show and game" or anything having to do with the game.
Because this show is based on a widely-consumed source material, it will go the same route as things like TWD and GoT did, where the "readers/players" are discussing the show on a different plane than those who have not consumed the materials. And you'll have game players in here "guiding" the rest of us just like the fricking a-hole readers did with GoT.
People literally fall into two categories: ones that have played the game and are familiar with the source materials, and ones who have not. Seems simple enough to post in whichever thread you fall into, but I am in the minority with that line of thinking.
And for the record, I'm not saying any gamer has spoiled anything big in here yet. But it's almost inevitable when you have the foresight of the source material. It won't be long before people are "predicting" huge plot points, for example. Personally, I don't need someone in here like fricking OML used to do in non-reader GoT thread, where he'd try to hype us up for big plot events and guide us through them.
Not to mention the obvious of: if this isn't the last we've seen of Bill and Frank (i.e. flashbacks in future episodes), then discussing what "already happened" in the game could potentially ruin something in the future as well.
That's just my $0.02 though.

Dude, we get it. You weren't bothered by it. Congrats. But some people were, and that's okay. And some people felt like it was gratuitous, and that's okay too.
I love how you frame it as simply "shirtless men," as if that's even remotely what it was. While it wasn't graphic gay sex (as so eloquently detailed by MLS), it was a naked man in bed tugging on the towel of another man, and then naked men lying on top of one another making out in bed. If you're gonna call shite out, at least make it accurate. And if you can't understand why some people may not want to see that, then I'm not sure what to tell you.

That said, I do think it’s possible that simply opening a valve could provide them with gas for a long time if he’s only using it to cook (e.g. if he’s using a gasoline or diesel generator). You could probably live off of the residual pipeline pressure for a fair amount of time. I don’t know about 20 years, though.
We also don't know what all he obtained by bartering with Tess/Joel (which they obviously did after their initial lunch meeting in 2007).
Might've been much easier to come by in the earlier years through abandoned houses, cars, other stations in the proximity, etc. When Joel was making the sell to barter, he had a lot of access to things he doesn't have now.
I just assumed what he didn't have to utilize on the property he bartered for with them over the years. And developed that relationship with them.

You may be right about the MS.
I took the rigidity and insomnia (hinted at) as Parkinson's, but it could very well MS too. Definitely a neurological disorder.

Bill should have acquired a utility trailer on day 1 to make his hauling easier than using his boat.
But that sweet boat and matching S10 were pretty foretelling about Bill.

For whatever reason, I took it as some sort of cancer, or even something like HIV (which would tie into the gay thing, but also being isolated like that would mean you have a far greater chance of not coming into contact with viruses that could end up killing you - like pneumonia).
The main reason I don't think Lou Gherig's works is because of how NOT deteriorated he seemed toward the end.

Your theory would make sense too (I think someone mentioned that a publication said it was ALS).
I think the bigger point is that it definitely wasn't AIDS as MLS had fantasized.

I said the same thing. Ole boy probably should've grabbed a trailer or uhaul from someone
I have not played the game and this question is for those like me:
Do we think Joel put everything of survival value that he didn't put in the vehicle into Bill's bunker, assuming he'll be back there a bunch throughout the show?

Also - Ellie basically hinted there was no air travel anymore, did she also mean for the quazi-government in the QZs? I can't remember if there were helis or airplanes during the Boston QZ scenes.

I thought the same thing. That’s a pretty sweet stash.

I would assume whatever passes for "the government" still has aircraft.

I think he took everything he assumed would be both needed and easy to carry should the truck inevitably break down.
Also, he still views Ellie as a job, not a friend. He intends to come back to Bill's bunker after the job is done
