Not to me, if they just took shot for shot and remade the game without building the world and telling the story of it would be pointless

What did you not want to see? A kiss on the lips?
Personally, I could've done fine without all of it. But that's just me and my preference.

If one was a woman would you have the same opinion of the same actions?
Of course I wouldn't. And neither would you.
But more than any of that, I can do without forced sex/relationship scenes and wastes of time no matter who is involved when those characters (that we literally just met this episode) don't have an effect on the story really, and don't even survive the episode.
Hey look, I'm glaad you liked all the gay kissing and sex stuff. I could've done without it, and it took away from the story a good bit for me (since it was all ultimately useless).

Ya know, for a non-gamer thread, a lot of you are mentioning the game and misrepresenting what's in it to prop up your feeble defense.

I didn't want to see it and guess what, i fast forwarded those scenes.
Exactly. The moment I saw the dude laying in bed shirtless I realized I was probably going to see something I didn’t want to, so I fast forwarded until they were wearing clothes again.
the other 75 minutes of the episode were pretty good, except for bill getting shot because he was standing in the middle of the street. That was dumb.

Was that gas plant seriously able to prop up Bill’s lifestyle for 20 years? Seems like something upstream of that facility would’ve gone caput immediately and him opening a single valve (lol) would have been useless.
As far as the gay propaganda, I’m convinced. Where do I sign up?

What bothered me the most was that it just felt like a gigantic waste of time for the most part.
What bothered me is all the effort Joel and Tess went through to get a battery for Bill's truck when Bill had all the ingredients to make one in his fridge.

Bring it to the gamer thread. I'll wait.

So this is why this episode was getting such critical acclaim? Because of the gay stuff.
I thought it was a pretty decent episode and the gay stuff doesn’t really bother me (though seems excessive most of the time), but this is the shite that bothers me. All of the critics called this the best episode ever blah blah blah. It was a solid B episode, but because there was a gay love story it becomes incredible. That’s the annoying part.
The other annoying part is why does Joel fricking hate guns lol?!?!?!? This dude stumbled upon Burt’s armory basement from Tremors and he’s just like nah we good. This fvcker needs to walk out of there strapped until he can barely walk and that truck is riding on its axels there’s so much ammo and guns in it.

They didn't have room bc they grabbed those 3 rolls of toilet paper. I was waiting for Joel to be like, "what the frick are you bringing that shite for, let me see what other stupid shite you packed...oh, wait, you have a gun in here."

Dear Lord man it’s just a relationship, the episode was pretty critical for moving forward and set up some nice world building and character development for Bill and Frank as well as impacting Joel

I’m sorry they have lost touch with god I’m sorry they are easily manipulated by propaganda I’m sorry they don’t see how it’s dangerous this material is for society I’m sorry they don’t see how wrong immoral and satanic these acts are( going back to how bad it is for society)
Oh man, definitely a lost cause when they think their all loving god would condemn the real life Bills and Franks of this world to eternal suffering because they love each other unconditionally and happen to be the same sex.

You think that because a very small number of homosexuals exist that they need to be overly represent in media.
And surely being vilified for an uncontrollable trait you were born with would never cause underreporting…

It’s not just a relationship. It’s gay dick in arse sex for no reason.
What time in the episode did they show the explicit sexual acts? I thought I was paying good attention but I guess not.
Posted on 1/30/23 at 9:39 am to iwyLSUiwy
I do not care that they were gay and not straight. I care that the 3rd episode in the 1st season spent an hour on a story that has minimal relevance to the plot.
That should've been a season 3 50 minute filler episode.

That never happened, there was no sex scenes stop getting triggered over simple shite

My main gripe with the episode was Frank the “survivalist” coming out of cover into the middle of the street to engage multiple hostiles. Come the frick on people jesus.
This was dumb as frick.
Also Frank didn't wake up Bill when they were being attacked to at least get him to take cover in the bunker.

The relationship between Bill and Frank was amazing. Being able to show that love still prevails even in the apocalypse.
That's great. It didn't move the plot along enough to warrant over an hour. Period.

I think they're trying to avoid TWD-itis of having to repeat the same thing 100x.
This just isn’t true. This series will be short, and has set storyline to follow. There is no reason to have an 80 minute filler love story episode with two characters who die at the end.
This episode was done as award bait and to please critics like Joanna Robinson. Do we have a Tess backstory? How did she and Joel meet and get together?
I don’t personally care about the gay shite, but make no mistake, this was very much a “hey I know it’s a giant waste of time, and these characters aren’t that important, but boy will it earn us some brownie points in certain circles”.

What bothered me the most was that it just felt like a gigantic waste of time for the most part. They could've gotten the exact same thing accomplished in half the time and still advanced the story to "Joel gets a truck and some supplies." It felt even more of a waste when we find out that neither Bill nor Frank survived, so it was quite literally a one-off episode.
Exactly this. I don’t want to be grouped with people who didn’t like it cause of the gay guys.
Posted on 1/30/23 at 9:50 am to landrywasbeast30
It gave us more details about Bill's background compared to the game. The episode was fun and a good changeup to surviving the hordes every week. However, I'm sure they knew how the episode would be received. Everyone will talk about it and it will increase viewership.

I mean...they went a lot further than just a couple of gay guys. It was pretty disgusting.
