Man imagine getting triggered over gays in 2023, y’all are the modern day version of people who threw a fit when an interracial couple was shown on TV
45 years ago, they would have been writing outraged letters to CBS about Tom and Helen Willis. Narrow-minded bigotry is timeless. Only the targets change.

Nah, I’d still complain. It felt like a filler episode and they didn’t need 80 minutes for it.

They didn’t all die or get caught on fire… they were ready to break into the compound .

I wondered the same thing. I was honestly expecting them to get killed by the raiders at that point or for at least Nick Offerman's character to have died then.

This is where you are all wrong. It’s not that it’s there, it’s that it is everywhere all the time.

What an awful episode.

It was an hour of gay propaganda.

Pretty sure Bill said to Frank to leave the gas on. That what the fire didn’t get the fence (electric) would.

Looked like they were maybe 7-10 raiders. Bill had also killed a few before getting hit himself with the rifle.

My main gripe with the episode was Frank the “survivalist” coming out of cover into the middle of the street to engage multiple hostiles.
Me too.

How many years have they been getting that town ready to defend? He should’ve had fortified sniper nests set up in two dozen different places. And instead, he stands in the middle of a damned (lighted) street with a deer rifle.

What an incredible episode. HBO never misses. The relationship between Bill and Frank was amazing. Being able to show that love still prevails even in the apocalypse.

Literally my only complaint as well but that can also be argued that Bill had read had to survive, but when the guns starting going he regressed. That said he got at least 5 of them. That was a beautiful episode, if you didn’t get or like it that’s fine. Damn I loved it. Nick Offerman deserves all the awards.

Touching and emotional, telling a love story from scratch in an hour that brought real stakes at the end. Beautiful writing and acting.

You (and some others who enjoyed the episode) might enjoy this interview with they did with the director of the episode.

They talk about the game a little but not enough for major spoilers (from what I can tell, I haven't played it either). Just a homage they introduced.

Showing a gay relationship is not necessarily gay propaganda.

Spending an hour on a gay relationship for no other reason than normalizing gay relationships is gay propaganda.

The episode detours for an hour into irrelevant details of two characters that do not matter. Both characters are dead at the end of the episode, and the flashbacks do not reveal anything new about the world.

The only purpose of Bill and Frank's characters is to bludgeon viewers over the head with their homosexuality.

Yeah, if that’s what you got from that then I feel kind of sorry for you. And any depth you lack.

Frank is dead in the game and they literally said during the inside the episode segment that they "saw an opportunity" to do something different in the show.

i.e. gay propaganda
