Yeah I agree with you. Reading this thread I was expecting anal penetrating or something but after watching it, it wasn’t that bad. The main problem like you said, is that it’s something they could have done in a lot less time. Especially for characters that are throwaways

Big time deviation from the source material. In the game, Bill refers to Frank as his “partner”. He’s already gone by the time Joel and Ellie get there. You don’t find out that Bill and Frank were lovers until you come across Frank, who committed suicide, later on. In his suicide note, he explains that he grew to hate Bill and his rules and wanted to get out of the town. He stole Bill’s battery, but got bit doing so and hung himself before he turned.

I'm sensing some serious projection with your obsession with anal sex, capped off by the irony of your posts being light years more graphic than anything shown in the episode.

I liked the episode for what it was, but I also wanted to see the actual story ramp a little more than it did. Offerman is awesome, and did an amazing job. Him and Frank's story was touching. Just not at all what I was expecting. Which is fine.
I agree with the people in here saying that Bill exposing himself to the raiders and getting himself shot instead of simply being tactical was very stupid and didn't make a ton of sense.
I am pretty bummed that Bill died after only one episode. That sucks.

Given his pretty dang effective defenses, designed to kill or severely slow down anyone trying to enter the fence, I’m shocked his plan wasn’t to have some type of crows nest set up.
The fenced in area was not huge. Gas and light them on fire, then while they’re figuring out what is going on, sit in your rooftop sniper tower and finish them off.
Also strange that the other guy panicked. Seems like they would have had a “shite hits the fan” plan and both would have known exactly what they were supposed to do.

It's hard to believe a guy like that didn't have and put on any tactical gear/armor or tell his significant other to move to the bunker. Felt like that scene was an afterthought.

The thing is is that most of the viewers were highly anticipating that scene I'd imagine, to see Bill and Frank and the compound in action against some raiders, and it was just underwhelming and forgetful.

I agree that it seemed Bill would be more prepared. It does not surprise me Frank was panicking. He seems a bit more....let's make a garden. I wouldn't be surprised if we have some flashbacks of Bill/Joel? Maybe I'm just being hopeful.
Lost in all of this pearl clutching was the scene with Ellie in the basement. Her cutting open that zombie to see that there is no human anymore under that skin was important. She had no problem stabbing it. Very personal kill.
I generally do not care but I did find it interesting that on IMDB, 25% of voters (Out of 70,000 votes) gave this episode a 1/10. I think many here make the point that you shouldn't cater to the minority.

which also makes you wonder how he was the only survivor out of his group of 10 people coming from the Baltimore QZ. Luck I guess.

He grabbed a gun and went out to grab Bill. Surprise at being woken up by gunfire and flamethrower isn't panic.

Fair enough. Just figured given what we know about their set up, that the plan would be more than grab the night stand gun and run outside.

Yeah growing up in the apocalypse is probably going to mess kids up, Ellie is a pretty big contrast to Sarah in terms how they handle chaotic situations

Why must you lie again. It is normal to be disgusted by shoving your Dick into an arse because it was not designed for that. Objectively disgusting. Covered in shite. Bleeding. Diapers. And how does understanding that make me the problem? You are the one trying to normalize that in households… to children. Who is is wrong here and who needs to work to be better.

It's weird that he gets so granular with details of gay sex.
To be honest I'm more grossed out by his descriptions than I was by anything in this episode.

Who is to say they are? May see more flashbacks and if its all we get of those 2, then that's fine it was a hell of an episode to have. Letting it be a well written story that was implied in the game is what an adaptation for television is about.
They did what they did in about an hour and gave Joel the other time, but I also enjoyed Joel's interaction with Bill and seeing frank and tess start to sorta bond was cool too.
If you call this episode filler, compare it to a filler walking dead episode..which 90% of their season probably is now. I didnt get that feel with this episode or story.
