Now that was another great episode. He knew it was blocked for a reason. Why not backtrack instead of pushing foreword?

I assumed because of the issue of the gas lasting only so long because of its age. If they’re siphoning gas along the way, they’ve probably hit that supply into KC?

I imagine they were forced to try to go through the city because of the surrounding area either by not having much by way of passable roads or maybe it’s too open/exposed of an area (Mizzou into Kansas)?

Interesting to see a “liberated” city as well.

Supplies and gas won’t be in rural places. So I guess they need to stay close to bigger cities for the better chance at finding stuff. What I don’t get is why KC? Aren’t they going to Wisconsin? That’s not on the way from Boston. Did I miss something?

I don’t think we have a clear answer.

My take is when he saw the initial blockage, he figured from his experience , he’d already been spotted and if he backtracked, they’d still follow him. Not 100% but that’s all I got

Also, they mentioned that Fedra cleared the roadways. I imagine they only did t that for major roadways. On smaller roads, they’re probably undrivsble due to all the abandoned cars in places

I figured they could have taken a different interstate if that was the case. Go out a different way they came in.

That was a pretty good look. Once they saw what was happening in the basement and he saw that she was putting vengeance in front of the good of everyone else then he should have done something else. They've known about it for a while now and haven't done anything about it.

If you drive from Boston to Wyoming you should stay on I-80 from Penn. all the way to Cheyenne. Going to KC is way out of the way.

Is the early release on Friday permanent or just for the Super Bowl weekend?

Oh shite somebody call HBO, they made a mistake.

Edit: they did point out that Ellie was bad at reading the map.

Pretty sure it's only because of the super bowl

I love shows that leave viewers to assume very simple things. Not. We're way, way, too many zombie shows over the last two decades to roll over and take stupidity and assumptions that are so basic to leaps of near fantasy in the story.

Haven't watched E4, E3 was just completely useless. E2 was nearly as bad, for you tip touching fans. I'll probably get bored and try and watch it once I finish this iRobot episode. Will probably fast forward through a bunch based on E2/E3.

Just pointing out that there was likely a reason they went through KC that we were not told, possibly wanting to avoid Chicago Infected or Fedra

No you’re right, I think Ellie read the map wrong because Joel said something about that when they wound up downtown. She gave him bad directions from the get go.

As she said, to be fair, it was only her second day in an actual car.

I enjoyed Joel/Ellie’s banter this episode. Bella Ramsey knows how to play that borderline, want to thump her in the head, annoying teenager attitude. But a little bit endearing as well.
