Searched but didn't see anything on it. Danish crime show on HBO. Can't put my finger on why it is so good, but it's pretty gripping.

Just finished it last night. Highly recommend it. It’s a quiet, and methodical series that may turn some people off, but I enjoyed the change of pace. I wasn’t ready for a few scenes that snuck up on me emotionally.

It was a bit slow pacing at times. It’s definitely more of a slow burn but it was almost as if they were making the audience feel how painstakingly slow they were uncovering evidence.

Spoilers below

And yet it was still only like 6 months to get the indictment. I can’t believe the evidence they were able to find in the damn ocean.

Episode 3 was gut wrenching.

Thanks for adding it’s a Danish show.
I get disappointed when someone recommends a show and I finally get set to watch it and then realize it’s in subtitles

I haven't finished it but so far it's slow and kind of boring. I want to know more about the crime and the participants involved.

I think the problem is that it was made for a Danish audience and they already know everything about the story (this was basically their OJ Simpson case) so the show offers a different perspective and focuses on the tedium and bureaucracy of putting an evidentiary case together.

That's actually the point of the show though, to focus on the investigation of the crime and everything that entails. According to the director and writer, they want a show strictly based on investigation rather than speaking about the murderer and their motives. Once you realize that, the show makes perfect sense for how it's presented to it's audience.

For me, it's been a pretty interesting and intense show. If your expecting action-packed adventure, you'll be disappointed. But, if you can appreciate a slow-burn and a trip into different police investigation strategies, the show is quite interesting. The fact that it's based on real events makes it even more fascinating.

Yep, the ending of that episode was exactly one of those moments I was referring to.

Excellent procedural. Didn’t have to rely on gimmicks. Didn’t mind the slow burn. More like this please.
