I had a similar experience with my uncle Roy and a story he used to tell, about a family who went into the woods and was attacked by a band of escaped Army psychiatric patients who'd been subjected to violent, hellish, torturous behavior-modification experiments. It seems they escaped from the metal boxes the Army kept them in, found his family in the woods, fell upon them, slaughtered them and ate them. Now that story - phew - it gave me nightmares not to be believed. Well I thought that Uncle Chet's story upset you in the same way.

He's not really wrong. Aykroyd isn't that great...the script is a Woodsy Summer Rental ripoff with a weaker story..See Tommy Boy vs. Black Sheep.

It’s on my list of movies I will watch anytime it’s on.

Two things… I love this movie, have seen it at least 100 times.
Secondly… Akroyd is on the spectrum, slightly Aspergers. I know this because he hooked up with a friend of mine one time, ate her arse at a party.
She was a gymnast at LSU when I was there 2000-2005. We hooked up a few times later on in life, after Covid hit. I knew she did some online skin work (not only fans, more film stuff), and she met Akroyd at a party one night… she said basically upon introduction he had her pressed up against a wall and bent down, pulled her pants down and started eating her arse. She seemed ok with it… I guess Trump was right..
