The first three episodes of Black Books are probably some of the best Brit com there is.

Seriously, I’ve watched this series dozens of times and those first 3 episodes...pure hilarity. The comedic timing, the visual gags. It’s just impeccable and never gets old.

If you haven’t watched it you are missing out. Give it a go,

It’s great dry British humor.

When the guy is lounging in a wheelchair and takes a piss without getting up lol.

Is it better than Peep Show?

What streaming service is it on?

No and it is on Prime. Also check out Spaced (Prime). White Gold on Netflix is pretty good, created by the same guy that did the Inbetweeners.

It’s got a quality all it’s own. It’s on prime and definitely worth a watch. The chemistry, the gags...I can watch it over and over and it’s still hilarious.

Definitely top 10 british comedies for me

I really hate the lack of puns and sight gags in American sitcoms, especially over the last 20 years.

Feels like the British understanding of the genre is that viewers come in expecting a comedy - that is the fictional, warped version of life where everything can be, and often is, bizarre and stupid and silly.

Meanwhile, American viewers come in expecting characters to behave funny.

The IT Crowd has a whole episode centered around "GAY! The Gay Musical" but you can't name one American sitcom that is allowed to be that obtuse.
