Which do you enjoy more? It's close as hell, but I think the first 50 of Apocalypse Now has more varied action and dynamics, and more memorable quotes from different characters.

The obvious answer is "yes." Honestly, I'd have to go back and watch the first 50 minutes and First Act of the respective films. But if I'm comparing the entirety of both films that's just a really tough choice. I don't think I can decide. Both films have two of the greatest directors, and some of the best cast lists.

The FMJ Boot Camp scenes are unmatched. It could've been its own movie.

Shiiiiiiit. I just checked IMDB and you are correct. I had no idea he was in Apocalypse Now. How did I miss that?

B/c his role is really really minor.

FMJ.

It's difficult to exhale and breathe deeply until you hear the first notes of Nancy Sinatra and realize that they're in Vietnam.

I never thought I'd think of Vietnam as a relief.

That's true. He's actually not credited in the role. But he's pretty easy to spot, even when he's not onscreen. Is there anyone here who didn't know that was him in X-men: the last stand, even though he was never on screen and had like 5 sentences?

AN is a great movie, but the first half of FMJ is some of the most compelling film making in history.
