I don't totally agree. He was of the diplomatic approach, talk her down peacefully, no one else has to die, and he still was turning them in to the authorities.

It's not like he was just trying to let them go and forgive all. His method was actually working until John Walker screwed it up.

No, it was pretty annoying. DEY DONT WANT NO BLACK CAPTAIN AMERICA. Jesus Christ, shut the frick up already about race.

I guess in the end Sam proved that the world has changed their view on black people.

The scene after this one took the cake. They are obviously in a majority black neighborhood and Bucky and Sam are arguing in the street and 2 white cops show up and one of them begins to question Sam until the other cop tells him he's the Falcon.

FIFY.

The movie going and D+ populace had no problem with Sam becoming Captain America. the writers may have thought they did and want to pretend that they did, but nobody in actuality, did.

i mean it was fine as a plot device. Isiah Bradley's pain i could buy a whole lot more than Sam's. But the America that wouldn't accept Sam as Captain America's replacement doesn't actually exist.

You don’t need to use quotation marks for a first person pronouncement.

You seem to frequently project your own thoughts and actions onto others.

A hero is only as good as the antagonist, and honestly the antagonist in this series sucked.

And why did they?

It didn’t make sense for them to do it just to do it.

You’re good with that?

Because Sam gave them the shield. It was absolutely believable. The government would have definitely created another Captain America in that situation.

If your argument is that it didn't make sense for Sam to give up the shield to the government, then I agree with that. Honestly I'm not sure why they needed to do that though. The government could have made a new Cap anyway and it still would have fit with exactly what anyone should expect the government to do.

I think folks tend to forget that Sam was one of the blipped. For all we know the government may have wondered why he was given the shield in the first place after being gone so long. Certainly they would be aware of his relationship with Steve and his tenure with the Avengers.

The strongest part of the show wasn’t who was going to get the shield. But the world dealing with how do we recalibrate after the blip. The main antagonist was weak but what they fought for was interesting.

After so many films we never really see how the world views the events that occur. Does the world really like the Avengers? Was the world better after the snap, was it happy when the blip occurred? We get to see a little bit of this in the Flag Smashers.

I was hoping to get more of this before we got to multiple universe shite.

Just finished it the other day.

I had to look up what the big motive behind the Flag Smashers' agenda was because it didn't really make sense. They should have elaborated on this more up front before taking off on the whole Carli angle. It was difficult to empathize when their goal wasn't entirely clear.

The politics in the show didn't bother as much but it was too, on the nose and preachy at times. The Isaiah Bradley storyline was a pretty cool subplot though.

There's a lot of filler and the show left a lot on the table. There was so much more questions to explore but we were left with nothing.

John Walker was, imo, was treated so unfairly. He watched his best friend die, and killed a Flagsmasher in retaliation and suddenly he's the bad guy??

Watching this show doesn't make me look forward to Captain America 4, which sucks because the Cap movies were probably the best of the MCU

With that being said, TFATWS is the worst of the D+ series so far, and with what is coming up, may not stay that way- Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, Hawkeye, Iron Heart- could possibly be worse.

The Flagsmashers were underwhelming.

TL/DR
TFATWS could have been so much better but sucked.

Just wanted to say how weak they made the winter soldier. He went from being a one man army to his arm falling off every other episode.
