Can’t quite make out the audio, but it seems to be legit. I guess we should be getting the official one soon.

That’s always the case, isn’t it?

It’s going to be a powerful and difficult season to watch. I hope they stay very close the biblical story.

Never understood the hype for this show. The actor for Jesus is pretty good but everyone is mediocre.

I saw the first 3 seasons back when it was still webisodes
Roumie kept it watchable for the first several seasons but then they started deviating significantly from the Gospels and even put Mormon stuff in there.

It started as a crowd-funded production, so the budget was very limited. The sets, effects and amount of extras was extremely limited, and the cast was inexperienced except for a few of the actors. Not a lot of money for multiple takes or editing after the shots.
The show got progressively better in that regard as the seasons unfolded and success led to more funding and better deals. Nevertheless, the concept and narratives are extremely compelling for our current culture.
Regarding your statement about Mormon stuff, please explain. I’m not familiar with what you’re talking about, and I also think there are criticisms that can be made about some of the writing and Biblical errancy, even as I think the series is remarkable and bringing souls to Jesus.

In what way? Is it all dialogue or just some of the characters?

It’s not just the dialogue, it’s the presentation
The production value looks super cheap for a gospel show. The costumes are laughable and look like they were bought from a TJ max clothing store. Nothing about the cinematography makes it stand out at all either.
It’s a mediocre show all around. It’s alright as an educational tool if you’re trying to teach the Gospel to youth group students, but as far as entertainment goes, nothing about it is captivating at all. It has nowhere near the appeal to secular audiences that films like Passion of the Christ had.

They did neither.

He’s probably referencing the “I am the law of Moses” line.
Jesus never says this in the Bible. However, he does in The Book of Mormon, but in a different context than the show.
It was highly debated back in season 3 when it happened (3 or 4).
