Alright!

Has this been discussed yet?

Who’s excited to see another story of a black family in a racist southern town in the 1960s? This is EXACTLY what we need right now.

And oh yeah, let’s call it the wonder years. Just one of the greatest shows of all time. No big deal.

Surprised that they went with the 1960s instead of the 1860s to beat us over the head with the guilt hammer.

Why, it’s everyone, you see! Nobody is sick of the agenda that America is deeply racist and needs to be reminded every few seconds. Nobody! We all want to watch this show, white black brown, you name it!

Has their ever been a black show in recent memory that didn’t have race in its storyline?

I never watch it and one day turned it on Blackish and they were talking to the kids about someone at school calling them the N word.

I can remember maybe 1/2 episodes out of all the Cosby/Fresh Prince run that played that card.

I just finished the wire for the first time and I was shocked at how many main black actors there are in that show that DID NOT mention being black at all. It’s almost as if they were just normal people working normal jobs and living normal lives.

What my biggest question is, how the frick do these producers and writers think America wants to watch race-heavy tv shows? Their ratings have been tanking all across the networks since this shite has been shoved down our throats. I’m completely baffled by it.

And it usually involved other AA's being mean to Carlton (the fraternity pledge episode comes to mind) for being smart and from a good nuclear family.

Its just lazy writing today.

Comedian Bill Burr sums up my feeling on "white guilt" movies and tv shows:

He! Was spot on the white guilt savior movie.

The white girl goes into the projects because she just has to make a difference... And after being rejected she becomes an honorary black person and saves them by teaching basic math with rap lyrics or some shite.

What he doesn't talk about is how racist those "good intentioned" white savior movies are.

Ah, they can't learn until Michelle Pfeiffer or Hillary Swank come down and teach us and we won't learn until they pretend to be black because universal knowledge is racist...and they can't learn Math until every student tells their life story and Math is then taught in street code or song.

Yeah, shows like Fresh Prince or Family Matters did a great job at tackling issues that many black people face - gun violence, interactions with the police, young men's relationships with their fathers, even Carl being too Uncle Tom to be a part of a black fraternity - but it wasn't just an endless stream about it. They had the novel idea of showing that the characters were far more than just being black.

Can’t wait for the black version of “The Munsters,” where the neighborhood rejects them because of their race, not because they’re monsters.

This is how the show is being pushed out there:

quote:

Talk about the perfect reboot: ABC has ordered a new take on the classic Fred Savage dramedy The Wonder Years by turning the focus on a Black middle-class family from the '60s.

So, who's the target audience? The younger black audience don't generally watch network TV. Nor does the younger white woke group. Most white conservatives of any age aren't going to watch this for sure. So I guess that leaves the older black crowd. So this thing will get minimal ratings and be on for a year or so and then we'll here how racist everyone is that didn't watch it. Yay.....

I’ll give Tyler Perry props

His movies are garbage but they are true senseless black comedies

How about Dave Chappelle's show about a white family with shall we say a racially insensitive surname:
