The wife and I are parrotheads and its NOT because he can sing, Buffett himself will tell you he's not the greatest singer or guitar player. I missed the National Anthem, but I knew it would be bad. If I know Jimmy Buffett, he knew he stunk it up and probably dropped the mic to poke fun at himself.

His agent once told me he was like the Rolling Stones. "You can't book Jimmy for that outdoor venue. It's like if you had the Stones." This was in about 2004. Yeah, no dude, it's not like that.

In what context was this stated? He hates playing indoors, almost all of his shows are outdoors in roughly 15K seat venues. Were you trying to book him and got turned away?

No, we didn't get turned away. It was for Capital Concerts. We didn't want to pay his fee, which was based on all of the security and other special considerations he'd "require," due to the supposed fact that Jimmy's mere presence on the Lawn would cause a sensation. I thought back to the times I had casually walked past Jimmy playing at Jazz Fest, laughed and we got the Beach Boys instead, who are much closer to being the Stones than Jimmy will ever be.

Of course, the trailer didn't get into much of the story. Hopefully this movie is a little deeper than I suspect.

Ok, gotcha, good or bad I like to here behind the scenes stories, love that kind of stuff.
and fwiw, I have no idea what duck soup is, but I'd punch Jimmy Buffett in the throat to get to some fried duck breast
