he had told them and the audience every single thing that the writers needed him to tell.

I couldn't understand anything he said. It actually really ticked me off that they delivered all of that information in such a way.

Love for Kate vs Love for Country

Parents wanted to prevent him from being with Kate vs Parents wanted to prevent him from being a spy, just like them

Great things with Kate vs Great things for the USSR as a field agent

Who knows? Maybe I am trying too hard to get to like the last 20 minutes

It was about as close as you can come to him breaking the fourth wall and directly explaining to us the details of his situation without actually doing it.

Jared as the killer and the whole second-gen program doesn't bother me as much as it did some people. In fact, I think the second-gen program is wonderful, and really shows how desperate the Soviets were becoming. I'm still a bit skeptical on how Jared executed his entire family though. That is quite an extreme response to his predicament with them. And if he hadn't just blurted this all out during his death confession, we could have found it out organically and it would have worked better.

It didn't help that the scene right after or one after was Granny explaining it again.

So can someone tell me what Larrick meant by "you killed my brothers"? The whole Larrick thing confused me the whole season. He just popped up out of nowhere

bad finale ... agree with others ... ending reminded me of 'bridge' and 'the killing' ...

Larick was mad because Phil and Elizabeth killed multiple soldiers during the war games. They were there just to take out the Contras but about 5 American soldiers and one truck driver also died because Phil was worried he would get caught.

Larick assumed they used his knowledge to kill not only Contras but fellow soldiers and in the finale, he was seemingly going to bring Phil and Elizabeth to the military police and take whatever punishment he would get.

Just caught up. Watched the first two season in about a 2 week span. Excellent show. The finale to season 2 i didn't have much of a problem with at all. Very interesting stuff, and all of the layers to the plot line make it all the more enjoyable.

Good but not great finale. Guessing the baby spy story line sets up a huge internal battle over Paige with Elizabeth and Phillip at each other's throats.

Without his wife, Nina, and his kid ignoring him I could definitely see Beeman falling apart.

I was wondering how this show was going to continue on to Season 3. Well, taking the angle of The Center trying to turn Paige into a Second Generation Illegal is a very intriguing one. Also, raise your hands if you saw Paige in the Stouffer's commercial. :raises hand:

Also, help me out with the story of the kid (Matt, I think) that Elizabeth was trying to protect (the kid's who's parents died in the hotel room). Did he murder his family? I had a hard time following his dialogue.

I wanna see more of Beeman suspecting Philip and Elizabeth or having close calls etc.
That was an interesting plotline to me in the first season.
That you have these soviet spies having a neighbor and friend with a FBI agent involved in rooting out espionage plotlines.

I thought that was a cool angle, but they totally dropped it for the entire second season. I thought there could be many layers of complications added with this route.

I'm thinking one of the kids lets something interesting slip to Beeman without realizing it.

Read the last 2-3 pages and that's what they're talking about; Jared is the son who's parents were killed. Liz was protecting him because she was friends with his mom and she promised she would.

I thought the confession by Jared was definitely out of line with how great the show has been so far, but it was only 1 scene. The rest has been awesome. Look forward to where they're going with season 3. Hopefully not with Paige too much, it wouldn't make sense imo.
