While making animation films, George Miller was liberated from practical constraints and able to put the camera exactly where he wanted it. Then, somehow, at the age of 75 he went to the desert to attempt the same thing (complete with 40 setups per scene), producing a live-action, high-speed, post-apocalyptic chase film. And he got a studio to pick up the $150 million tab. The film’s mere existence feels like a miracle. The action scenes themselves are dense and lightning-fast, but so perfectly orchestrated they never disappoint. Miller also doesn’t shy away from over-the-top flourishes like a flame-shooting guitar player, proving that even a serious action director can have fun with his material.

I’m sorry, The Dark Knight is not a good action movie. It’s more of a drama if anything. While there are some decent action sequences like in Hong Kong and the Batmobile chase… there’s really not a lot of action in it. No more than say Gangs of New York. Winter Soldier is a way better action movie than The Dark Knight.
EDIT: Winter Soldier didn’t make the list at all, but Birds of Prey, Black Panther, and Wonder Woman do? Also how does Shaun of the Dead make the list but not Hot Fuzz? What a garbage list.

I love JW2 but it’s not even the best one in the franchise.
Love some Crouching Tiger too, I may have had that one #1 honestly

I mean, it is though.
None of the top 10 are bad movies, so that's a plus. If the whole thing actually does feature junk like Birds of Prey, that plus might be confined to the top.

What?

I get that they were marketed as a two-parter, but really the two movies are very different. It's weird this gets treated as a single entry but no other sequel does.

I just don’t consider CGI action so the slow and curious movies don’t cut it.

5. “Mission: Impossible — Fallout” (2018)
This is worthy.

6. “John Wick: Chapter 2” (2017)
This is just head shots. Might as well watch someone play Doom.

7. “The Bourne Ultimatum” (2007)
Blair Witch action. Director needed a tripod. When you feel like you're on a motorbike while trying to stream a movie going through gravel.

I don't remember Italian night clubs, tailor scenes, mirror/knife dens, or Common fights in Doom.
I understand why many prefer the simplicity of the first one, but 2 has such awesome sequences, and it has a looser, more fun vibe. I think the best action scenes in the series are probably in chapter 3, but I'd call that the weakest overall film so far.
