I've never liked Luke Skywalker.

He basically took an intersession course to become a jedi. No wonder he's rocking a prosthetic hand.

Luke is the biggest loser in the star wars universe.

The list is funny, but Luke is far from being the biggest idiot in the sw galaxy...

Wow, that guy brought up some really good points. Especially the dumb assed rescue of Han and throwing away the light saber. I was 7 when I saw RotJ and I remember thinking "what are you doing?!!"

the list was just ok. I was hoping for some real clever observations. Luke's plan (and we're assuming it's only luke's plan, and also that he did not 'forsee' everything) was a valid one. Why Luke didn't bring his light saber with him in there in the first place is beyond me. He could've taken out that whole bunch and ended jaba right there, but no, that wouldn't have made for the dramatic action packed scenes to follow. oh well. And being such a smart jedi, how could he fall for standing DIRECTLY on a trap door. His awesome powers of the force didn't see that one coming?
Throwing away his light saber, I guess that's one too, but there's no way he would defeat the emperor with it anyway. He's too powerful. He'd have to convert vader back to help him, and how else but to see his son getting his arse kicked to snap him out of it.
Other than all that, I had a bigger problem with luke somehow becoming a jedi so quickly. I mean, these guys have to be trained from kids and he gets what seems to be a intercession class of jedi training. Hell, yoda thinks he sucks but then all of a sudden he says he only needs to face his father before he is a jedi. I mean, I guess we could assume he's just that great, or that it had to happen to make the storyline work or something.
Ok, that's my nerd rant for the day. I might not have written that much, but I watched like all ep 4-6 again this past week, came on spike

Show up at a job interview and tell them, "Well, I didn't attend an actual university, but I did spend a short amount of time with a couple of homeless men that were former professors."

I'm not a Star Wars fan, I don't own any Star War movies, and it has been at least 5 years since I've watched Star Wars. With that in mind, here are my thoughts:
#5) -- I don't get this one. I mean the Jedi SuperStar Obi Wan guy is talking to Luke from the after-life, telling him to to trust the force. Why is Luke an idiot for following this advise over some rinky-dink-looking targeting system that looks like something the Mexican Air Force wouldn't even trust?
#4) -- I don't get this one either. The author is now saying Luke is an idiot for NOT listening to Obi Wan talking to Luke from the after-life, when in #5, the author said LSU was an idiot for listening to Obi Wan talking to Luke from the after-life. And yes, I can see how Luke was dumb for not listening to Obi-Wan and Yoda, but I can't blame him, being that there is nothing wrong with people doing dumb things to try and save the people they love the most. For example, a child runs in front of a car: is it dumb for the child's mom to run in front of the car as well to try and save her child?
#3) -- This I agree with. The whole plan was pretty stupid. It would have been a lot cooler if Luke just showed up at Jabba’s fortress by himself (or with one or more assistants at his side), and fought his way through, saving Hans Solo that way. This would be similar to how Neo and Trinity showed up at the Agents' headquarter building and fought their way through, saving Morpheus.
#2) -- I don't get this one. The author thinks Luke would have been better of keeping his lightsaber, and trying to use that to fight the Emperor. Massive fail. Had Luke kept his lightsaber, than he and the Emperor would have had a good fight, with the Emperor beating Luke, and Darth Vader not getting involved because it was a pretty fair fight. The smart move was for Luke to throw away his lightsaber, making the fight obviously injust, knowing that it was so injust that his father would have no choice but to jump in on his side. Smart play by Luke here.
#1) -- I don't get this one. In the Matrix, the traitor Cypher ratted out his crew and "joined the dark side." And for doing so, the Agents would give him the life of his dreams -- US president, porn star, superstar NFL QB, best football coach in history, richest man on the planet, 100 beautiful women a day begging to sleep with him -- whatever he wanted (his dream was to be a movie star like Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt, and the Agents said no problem). That's just dumb to call Luke or Neo stupid for not "joining the dark side." That would be like saying Neo was dumb for choosing the red pill instead of the blue pill (remember that Cypher said: "I know what you're thinking, 'cause right now I'm thinking the same thing. Actually, I've been thinking it ever since I got here: Why oh why didn't I take the BLUE pill?")
