What a count.

She can do that if she wants but she will end up ghettoizing herself, no pun intended, to a small segment of cinema as a result,

... ala Rosario Dawson.

There’s that word again. You SJWs just can’t think of any other word. SJWs run around shrieking about racist white people phantom oppression, but when a non-white person is legit racist, well anyone who doesn’t like it is a SNOWFLAKE SNOWFLAKE SNOWFLAKE!!!

Such blatant racism would cause a white person their career.

This is so absurd.

Is it making an excuse when that's exactly what it seems like she was saying?

I seriously doubt she meant "Hey frick whitey and frick dudes, I only want brown women on my movies" the way some of y'all are acting.

The source OP used deliberately left the word "just" out of the headline but that's kind of important for the context of what she said.

quote:

“I don’t want to show up on set and just see a bunch of white people, no offence. And I don’t want to work in the company of a bunch of men. No offence.

“I want to see work that really looks like the world in which we live. There are lots of people of colour, look around. It’s also really exciting not just what we put on screen, but also to work on productions that are inclusive.

“I want to show up on set and have it look like the world I walk around in every day, which is full of women, and people of colour, and folk with disabilities. I want to make content that feels like that both on camera and off it.”

All she is saying is she'd like some diversity on set. Good lord the overreactions in this thread are something.

The entire purpose of this thread is pretty fricking suspect considering the bullshite the OP has been posting on this board the last couple of days.

Wonder who she thinks watches literally every movie she's been in.

Also, I get what she's saying. But what are these diverse actors doing to provide legitimate opportunities for other minorities?

I don't know what she's melting over, all the films and tv these days are filled with a diverse cast...

No one is casting white folks anymore...

While unrelated, her character is annoying AF in the Creed franchise.

She is not just talking about the cast. She is also including the crew of the shoot when he says she wants a more diverse group on set.

I have no problem with her saying this. I don't mind inclusivity, only if it's not forced.

As black people, we make up roughly 13% of the population (i think). So, it makes no sense unless the movie is specifically a black movie, to pretend that all movies should have a large amount of black people apart of it.

On the other hand, women make up 50% of the US population maybe. Idk, im not googling anything.. So, i think it is acceptable to be able to want to see more women work in the film industry, if they are not already represented.
