He's very easy to work with and nice, I've been told. Also that he does know what he wants and that it's right, he comes off more of "I know what I'm doing, trust me" and not "Shut the frick up you don't know what your'e talking about, do it my way."

My buddy's brother played a slave driver in Django and this is exactly how he described QT.

That very well may be the case, and if so, good. It just seems to me that he would have written a better acceptance "screen play" than the speech he gave which came off as if he was thanking everybody in his writer's circle for just agreeing with him because he just needed to hear the sound of his own voice reading his script to them and for them to basically just agree and shut up. Have to admit, though, if that's the case, if all you have to do is smile and give him thumbs up on everything to be on his writing team, what's not to like about that?

The reporters in the pressroom were taken aback by his use of the word, but Don Cheadle, who followed Tarantino backstage for his win for House of Lies, used the opportunity to make a subtle point.
When he took the stage, he said: “Please no n—– questions. Black people questions are alright.”

My sister is a costume PA in NOLA ... Some of her friends got to work on Django for him and said he was crazy as hell but the cast/crew fed off of his energy. a lot of drinking/parties/camaraderie on the set

There's a reason that actors who play in his movies usually work with him again and again.

Well, anyone who doesn't think QT uses the N word IRL is a fool, and of course he has an ego. It's like people haven't heard of this man before.

Man I applaud Quentin Tarantino. That man isn't scared to say or do anything. He writes his scripts the way HE wants to. If he wants to use the "n word" or fill his films with violence he'll do it. Whoever doesn't like it can take a hike. And everyone knew Jodie Foster was a pathetic joke last night....QT had the balls to speak about it.

This. We've become a pathetic society when certain words are verboten in an effort to regulate thought.

I've always viewed Tarantino as a bit of a douche. Or at least immature. But neither situation described in the OP are examples of it IMHO. Using the N word to discuss the use of the N word is not "dropping" it. And the quote about Foster's speech seems both accurate and not particularly mean spirited.
