Did they just let the 9th graders watch this without consent forms? If you wanted you could create quite a fuss about them showing this to kids under 17. If you want to let your kid watch this at home fine but I don't see a place for this movie in a HS class room.

It might of been a recording of the stage play. I dont think that is as graphic as the movie with Johnny Depp.

Ah, some actual intelligence - thank you. The teacher was gone for the day and left instructions with the sub to show it. And it was the actual movie, not the stage play.

Unless they have an older movie the movie I saw was pretty gorey. But the only thing it could teach the kids is how to slit peoples throats and use their bodies to make meat pies. I dont think its a big deal.

Sweeney Todd is the correct spelling, and it's a very adult themed musical. Excellent show, but not quite for that age range... though today's youth has prob. seen much worse by now..
