Wish it was Boomers vs Millennials since the Boomers can't stop talking about how shitty Millennials are, even though they raised them.

Boomers raised Gen X and Y. Millenials are the kids of Gen X, mostly.

And I mostly see Gen X and Y bitching about millenials.

But most of those generational terms are somewhat vague. Boomers are pretty clear though. They came from the post-WW2 baby boom.

Btw, the players had to be evacuated this season because of a cyclone.

Is that this season or the following one?

They typically film two seasons back to back at the same location for logistical reasons... I would imagine the entire new season has been filmed already.

ETA: Gen X here... barely. Most people seem to consider the first few years of the 1980s as the last of Gen X.

There is no Generation Y. It was a place-holder term until Millennial became the nomenclature. Here's an article on generational theory (https://www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2014/03/here-is-when-each-generation-begins-and-ends-according-to-facts/359589/)

And yes, Millennials are largely the kids of Boomers. When the first Millennials were born in 1982, the oldest Gen X'ers out there were just 17. I'm solidly Gen X, and my parents are pre-Baby Boom, like most of the people I know my age (but not all). Gen X kids are an unnamed generation and we'll screw them up in a different way.

Pretty sure it is the one that is about to air. Jeff said there is some kind of of unprecedented (for the show) weather event.

The season after Mill vs Gen X has already been filmed, it's another all-returnee season

I'm 30 but identify more with Gen X. The term Millenial didn't even exist when I was born. I was born 14 years before the Millennium and grew up with record players, vhs tapes, and basic cable.

The cyclone was this season before the tribes were divided so it happened early.

Get your history straight. Boomers were born from the mid 1940s to the early 1960s. Millennials weren't born till after the early 80's

I honestly expect this season to be crap. These themed seasons are getting old anyway and now they come out with this crap. This is essentially young vs old with an extremely annoying overlying theme. I will be watching on Wednesday to see how they delt with the storm, but it is on a very short leash for me.

I might end up packing it in til season 34

Next season won't be much better. 4th time players mixed with winners and a bunch of randoms. I don't know why they didn't just do another second chance season instead considering how successful it was. Bring back players that only played once like Greg Buis.

There are only 2 4th timers, Ozzy and Cirie. You are right, neither of them should be on. I do like the cast though other than a few of them.

They blew their wad with the 1st 2nd chance season. Yea, there are some players who missed out who need to come back on, but no way can they fill out an 18 person cast using that criteria.

Rumor is that 34 was supposed to be Winners vs Runners up vs Jury (or something of that nature), but they fell short on getting the right people to commit. Hence why Sandra agreed to come back. No way they sold her on this with anything short of a season with multiple winners for her to hide behind. I am beginning to doubt we will ever see the fabled all winners season. If they can't fill the above quota, there is no way they can get 18 winners to commit for one season.

Not really. There are literally hundreds of players that only played once that would make good tv: Silas (Africa), Sean (Marquesas), Brian (Thailand), Gretchen (Borneo), Judd (Guatemala), Joel (Micronesia), etc.

I was born in 67. Never considered myself as a GenX

I feel like those born early in the age range for their generation will identify more with the previous one.

Especially those like me who have a sibling in that earlier generation. My sister was born in 80 and me in 85. I spent most of my life playing with her and my older cousins.

I feel like those of us born between 80-90 are a little hard to peg down. We grew up immersed in Atari all the way up to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. We had rotary phones all the way up to cell phones. All the technology advanced during our formative years of 8 to 18. It's hard to pin that down and put them in with any other group around them.

I'd say a true 'millennial' is somebody born after about 1990-1995.(or graduated HS after about 2006). If you have no memory of life BEFORE the Internet and cell phones and were not a teenager or adult when 9/11 happened…. You're a millennial.

Id day people born about 1977-1988 are true Gen Y… 80s/early90s kids who grew up in the "old world" (pre Internet) but are still extremely Tech savvy and knowledgeable.

But.. I was born in '88 and graduated from HS in 07.. so am I a millenial or a gen y?

I would classify you borderline between the two. You could claim whichever your personality fits best in.

I was born in 84, graduated in 02. I would consider myself borderline between Gen-X and Gen-Y. I claim Gen-X because that's what my personality fits best into.

I'll choke a bitch for calling me a millennial.

The thing is Gen X did not generate the Gen-Y/millennials, the boomers did.

If you were born on the front end of Gen X (1970), avg age of producing offspring going up and up, at 30 yo (in 2000) their kids are max 16 right now.

Late Gen X'ers 32-42 have 2yo to 12yo kids.

So the kids 18-32 are not products of Gen X. They are products of 1954-1968.

it's a weird discussion.

i'm an 83er and i blatantly associate with Gen X. My sister was born in 81 and she's 100% millennial and identifies with them in every way.

Gen Y isn't a real thing, it was just a placeholder name, sort of like Generation Z now for whatever the post-millennials end up being called.

You are definitely a Millennial.

Still Gen X. And most or at least some Gen X'ers don't crap on millennials or whatever they are called.

It's the boomers that don't like them and it's their own kids they don't like. The boomers are the ones working till they die and let their 18-32 yo kids live with them and don't retire and take up jobs from younger people, they need someone to blame, therefore millennials.

And Gen X, like always, is stuck in the middle. Gen X and Millennials have to live in the situation not created by us. I really doubt a Gen X will be elected president even in 2020. Really 2024 because these are really 8 year terms. Not that the president really matters, I'll put my money on Bush, Clinton, or another puppet.

In 2024 the two people running are not Gen X, they will be 1953-1963, baby boomers.

I guess I am. I grew up deeply involved with technology and grew with it. From the time I knew the alphabet I knew how to type. I have fond memories of playing Oregon Trail and DOOM on 5 1/2" floppy disks, playing the O.G. Warcraft, Diablo multiplayer over Dialup, playing the NES, etc.. but I was atypical because my dad has always been big into radios and computers. Most people my age did not have a lot of those things when they were very young.

I was around your age (3 years older) and I learned to type on a typewriter.

We didn't get our first computer until I was like 12 or 13.

But we were poor, sooooo...
