There was an advance screening at the MCM London Comic Con. Very positive tweet reactions.

Take that as you will. ("They filled that theater with company shills!" "The advance tweets about BvS were good too you know!" etc.)

I hope Suicide Squad is awesome, but after BvS I'll never buy these "positive" tweets ever again.

Those tweets are legits, the reviews are paid to trash them. I rather trust a fan review than a professional one.

A lot of those tweets for BvS that came out were saying it was the best superhero movie ever. I think whether you like it or not, most people would never actually say it's the BEST superhero movie ever. After the premiere of the new Fantastic Four came out, similar tweets were viral. You can't trust them.

That's why when I was posting the responses for BvS after the premiere, I wanted to post the most credible people. They were hard to find. Most of the accounts had less than 200 followers.

Now, with that being said..........I REALLY want SS to be good, obviously.

Apparently Chris Pine is in negotiations to play Steve Trevor in the Wonder Woman standalone movie. I thought that Scott Eastwood's Suicide Squad character would turn out to be Trevor. Makes me more curious as to what character he is playing.

Joel Kinnaman is Flag. Eastwood still doesn't have a character listing. Rumors are that he'll be revealed to be a DC character like Dick Grayson.

If they do pull it off I will tip my hat to them for the best last second changes to a movie of all time. I was a big fan of Suicide Squad from the comics and I'd love to see the movie do well. Hopefully Warner Brothers learned from BvS.

There was another test screening in Sacramento recently. Reviews seem to range from Ok to very good.

Test screenings for the suicide squad have called it "a great movie, let down by a weak villain".

WB is screening TWO different versions of #SuicideSquad, and my sources say the audiences loved BOTH. What a good problem to have

quote:

"I saw SS a little while ago. It's significantly better than BvS and X-Men. It's objectively a better movie than Deadpool, but Deadpool was more fun. Civil War was better.
I'm not saying that Civil War is better to be mean to SS, I'm just saying it because I got burned by early reviews saying "BvS IS THE BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME!!!!!" and would've appreciated honesty, you know?

It's an excellent movie. It tells a very straightforward story with an amazing cast. You will like every single member of the Squad, with Harley (obviously) stealing the show. She's a star and everyone will love her. This is the type of movie that demands a sequel.

I'm sure critics will find ways to hate it (it's basically a gritty action movie with comic book characters and a Hot Topic aesthetic, which honestly might turn critics off), but DC fans will like it. The BIG thing is that the movie literally saves DCEU Batman. This Batman is BTAS personified.

David Ayer understands Batman on a fundamental level I think. It's hard to explain without spoilers, but Batman delivers justice in a sympathetic manner instead of just blowing up criminals. He locks criminals up, but he understands and cares about them at the same time.

Eh, there were 2 characters I didn't like. Felt nothing towards them and when they had that so called emotional scene at the end, nothing. The villain was a big disappointment considering how fresh the idea I thought it was. I still thought it was a very good movie.

The villain definitely didn't work. But nobody will be seeing the movie for the villain anyway, haha

90% of the cast are villains of some sort. I'd think that the focus would be on their interaction.

I hope so. But I must admit that seeing the train monster didn't work for me.

Ayer did so well with End of Watch and Fury. Pity, he's taking a superhero movie now. That's the nature of our times, I guess. . .

Same could go for James Wan

I'm interested to see if they take it super serious or it's like Guardians of the Galaxy.
