you are supposed to take the joker seriously? He is the joker after all.

I read quite a few of the suicide squad arcs, and he appears occasionally but he is not part of the suicide squad. And his appearances are usually due to harley's mental instability.

I doubt he has much of a role.

With that said, there is no doubt in mymind this movie is going to suck.

I think this movie will be awesome.

It's looking more and more like a comic book movie. Something DC has not made in a long time.

The Nolanverse and MoS. Neither were comic book movies. They tried to hard to jam the comic book things into the real world. I read comics to escape the real world. To see characters do things. Not to read a story about a realistic human being in a realistic world.

Agreed. The Nolan films were good, but they were far from the definitive Batman films. I'd like to see more of a comic book feel, and I think this film and hopefully BvS will be as well.

The lack of comic book feel is what made the Nolan movies so good IMO

I think part of the reason WB is heading in this direction is due to Geoff Johns having so much input in the early stages. He has always embraced the silver age of comics which was the most fun comic era imo.

I say part of the reason because Marvels success has to be a much larger part of the reason.

They were great action thriller detective movies, but far from a great batman movie. Ledger played a phenomenal villain but he wasn't the Joker.

At least, he wasn't the villain I grew up reading in comics.

I've said this before:
Ledger was a cold, calculating, planning criminal mastermind genius chess player.

The Joker is a completely unhinged maniacal dangerous agent of chaos. Despite Ledger's monologue about being a dog chasing cars, he was anything but that.

I'm hoping the Suicide Squad Joker is more of an absolutely unhinged psycho than a criminal mastermind.

They based his character off of the Joker from Batman #1, The Killing Joke, and Batman: The Man Who Laughs. Stories which are closer to the Joker Ledger gave us in The Dark Knight.

Batmobile on set tonight, appears to be a chase scene with the Joker. I don't know how I feel about Batman being in this, I wish they would just focus on the suicide squad characters.

To me, ledger's came off as full of shite, in a good way. His multiple choice past, he obviously planned well..despite his "do I look like a guy with a plan?".

He even had a backup for the two boats.

Great villain, great take on a villain.

Batman has always been in suicide squad. They're mainly his bad guys and right up his alley doing shite for the government he finds unethical.

Anyway, Joker's car is nice. But you know, joker has never been about luxury and wealth. That's not his style. Why else do you think he burnt mountains of money in TDK?

Agreed. I like everything I'm seeing from this film except what they're doing with the joker. I have no doubt that Leto will be great, but he just looks odd to me and him driving that car just makes me laugh for some reason.
