Just saw it, pretty sure for the first time. Maybe my favorite Hitchcock movie of all time. What a great film. The villain is incredible. And the climatic scene is a masterpiece. Wow. I’m blown away.

Great movie. It was Patricia Highsmith's debut novel. She is an awesome writer. Wrote the Tom Ripley series, which is also brilliant.

Brilliant masterpiece! I agree, I think it is also my favorite Hitchcock.

Literally almost watched this last night. I’ve seen it before, and remember liking it. But it’s been a while and I’ve been wanting to watch it again.
Rear Window is still his best for me though.

It's hard to beat Grace Kelly and Jimmy Stewart.
Love Rear Window.
I caught Strangers on a Train one random afternoon during a Hitchcock marathon on AMC. Had never heard of it before decided why not? Holy shite, great movie.

Fun Factoid:
the actress who plays Ruth Roman’s little sister, who triggers the psychotic reaction from villain Robert Walker in this scene, is Alfred Hitchcock’s daughter Patricia:
ETA: occasionally when i meet a stranger, i’m tempted to go into Bruno’s little icebreaker speech when he was introduced to the Senator:

I'd like to talk with you sometime, sir, and tell you about my idea for harnessing the life force. It'll make atomic power look like the horse and buggy. I'm already developing my faculty for seeing _millions_ of miles. And Senator: can you imagine being able to smell a flower - on the planet Mars? I'd like to have lunch with you someday soon, sir. Tell you more about it.
