Has this been any good? Trying to decide if I should jump in. By the end of season 2 the novelty had worn thin, and I don’t remember looking forward to the third season.

I liked Max last season but she was a raging bitch this year. I remember thinking last season that it's very difficult to like a new character that is added to a core group yet they pulled it off. They erased all of that good will this year.

Season 3 was an improvement..not a "Eleven come to the rescue" as many thought it was going to be.

Still felt the same. Past 2 seasons have been so stake. Average bad guys show up, they’re stopped. Rinse repeat. I hope they take a brand new direction s4 I doubt it but it will be fun

the chemistry is what is great...especially this time with the kids more so than the adults. The only thing that did annoy me was the lame Terminator-like villain.

I just finished binging it, I think the opposite of many in this thread.

I thought the first 2 episodes were set up a litle TOO much like hokey 80-movies,so much so that it didn't vibe with the rest of the series.

It's MUCH better from there. I was on edge throughout most of the remainder, it was nonstop tension and legitimate creepy monster-villain. Eleven being knocked out of a large part of the battle seemed like a cop out to leave fans thinking "now what will they do!" since they relied on her to save them in the past, but I could look past that.

Let me be the first to say that I am officially in love with someone I've never met IRL:

Nancy Wheeler is officially my dream woman. She's got the build I like and those pouty lips and big brown eyes. I've always been a fan of the more petite women, she checks every box for me.

Dustin having to sing while everybody was on the same station was hilarious. That was such a good scene.

I feel like they could've really screwed that up in the name of comedy and risked it being conceived as super cheesy, but in the end I really liked the way it juxtaposed and played over some very tense things going on.

I've liked Steve ever since he did the bat spin while attacking the demadog in the house in S1.

Not gonna lie, I hope I get to use it someday myself

at people reading political agenda in this show..

Season was phenomenal and better then S2

There was a political agenda, just not the one everyone is making it out to be.

Does anybody remember the Cold War, the "Red Scare," or any of our relationship with Russia in the 80s? They were very much our enemy on all fronts - idealism, communism, the space race, and weapons race?

It's stated and inferred throughout the show that 011 (as well as 008 and any others) is a
US military experiment to create a super-soldier to take on the Russians, our greatest enemy at the time. Naturally the USSR had a vested interest in figuring it all out and they were in their very own "arms race" with the military in Hawkins to replicate the results.

Basically not only did the Hawkins lab create these genetically altered soldiers, they opened the gate to a potential source of a weapon beyond anything they could imagine. Naturally the USSR wanted their own, or to win that race. We were expending just about every counter-intel available to stop the USSR in real life, of course they're there trying to make their own because the US had already figured it out.

Obviously they didn't know what all it entailed, they just knew we had it and they didn't. They didn't know what the "upside down" truly is, just that the US had made a potentially game-changer discovery that somehow resulted in genetically engineered super-soldiers.

This was the purpose of the whole Russian storyline, I thought it was fairly obvious.

The lesbian storyline just served as character growth for Steve and to introduce a new character into the fold that I personally liked. Something tells me that she and Steve end up more than just straight male and lesbian female friends in the long run anyway.

So you're into scrawny, prissy chicks.

I myself am not.

BTW, does Byers remind anyone else of Evil from Fright NIght?

I agree. That is delusional. There was nothing natural about that transition. Seems like they just made her gay like they made Ellie gay in the Last of Us just so the Joel and Ellie relationship couldn't happen later down the road.

You people are insufferable. Had they spent more time in the season foreshadowing that she might be gay, you would be complaining about how they turned her sexuality into a major storyline of the season just to push an SJW agenda.

If they announced her as gay from the start, the complaint would be that they made a character gay just to be SJW and have a gay character.

There is literally no winning with you people, unless every character is straight. They didn’t make a big deal about her sexuality, and it was a logical way to set up her and Steve as an interesting, just friends, dynamic to play off going forward.

You have to be looking for reasons to be upset to be bothered by how they handled her sexuality.

they did

You people act like it's a one-off. How many lesbians have to be in how many shows and movies before you recognize a pattern?

Quite the opposite. They built up a possible romance all season long.

Like another poster said, the Duffers were SJW'd by feminists and have obviously, totally caved.

To be fair, I knew she'd end up being a lesbian around episode 1.5

There were definitely hints there throughout the season

Overseeing his game-spitting to female patrons was a big signal. A girl that age who is crushing would have been more standoffish.

No way. He's got the same triangular, squinty-eyed reptoid face that Evil has.
