I can't decide if I want to go looking for spoilers or avoid it until Friday when I get to see it. I normally don't mind being spoiled but I feel like I may want to go into this one blind.

I won't be looking for spoilers, just if it was good or not.

Going to be tons of cams flooding torrent sites in the next couple of days as the film is released internationally.

Theforce.net had some positive tweets popping up already. I'll post some as soon as I can get the site back up. The traffic appears to be heavy right now, not surprising.

#ForceAwakens might be the best blockbuster since the original.

Sounds awesome. Interested to see if there are any negative reviews. I feel like we are going to learn more from them, or the lack of.

Initial reactions are almost always positive. Even the most recent Fantastic Four had some positive buzz. I'll be interested to see the reviews that should start popping up tomorrow or Wednesday.

@rainnwilson 1st Star Wars review: it was epic, awesome & perfect. The cast was stellar. JJ killed it!

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS is ok. I know it's poetry, I know it rhymes, but does every line have to rhyme with the last poem?

THE FORCE AWAKENS proves JJ Abrams is an auteur: once again we have great characters, propulsive fun, sort of shitty, dumb story.

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS is a strong, promising kickoff. As a standalone, I'd rank it #3 in the series.

Well I think we can rest easy with VIII and XI because Rian Johnson is writing both so there might be less humor in the next two but he will take the story to the next level. I'm not looking for something crazy story telling wise, JJ isn't very good with that.

I want an entertaining movie that lays the groundwork for the sequels to come while also rectifying fans fears and worries from the prequels and solidifying one of the most epic movie franchises in history. I believe in JJ. I don't expect this to blow me out of the water. But I expect to at least be on par with ROTJ

I have some more complicated thoughts on TFA, but will save them for the review. Some faults, but no doubt best Star Wars film since '83.

That's all I got. I'm off for the night. Can't wait, only a few days away.

I'm expecting it to be a hell of a lot better than that. RotJ is when George's ugly greedy head started to peak in. There's tons of shite in it. I will be fully satisfied if it's on the first two's level, which if it's #3 in the series I'd be ok with, so long as Episode VIII is amazing. I'm looking for a great set-up here and a reestablishment of faith with the fanbase.

JJ should know exactly what the hardcore fans want from it. In retrospect, much of A New Hope is iconic, but not nearly as good as Empire. There's really a reason Lucas can't frick that movie up on the special editions, and it's because it's already flawless. This is really the movie that carries the franchise much more so than the original. If Empire was on the same level as Return of the Jedi, it would be looked on as a one-hit wonder and wouldn't have near the impact on pop culture. It was the film that really understood what the second chapter of a trilogy should be, and no other movie before it really understood it.

I'm looking for a good set-up here and for it to clarify all the shite George has put on this franchise since Return of the Jedi. Like Empire, Episode VIII should be the best of this trilogy and they should keep building it up. I'd love for them to pull off a Return of the King level of triumph of course, but I just want them to really set up a dark middle chapter where Luke gets killed and they lose all hope before the big showdown.

How incomprehensible will Harry Knowles's review of this movie be?

I can't stand that dweeb constantly begging everyone for money over pointless shite just because he once interviewed JGL and had Weta video his wedding. The guy is a pretentious tool who thinks the world owes him money.
