Shut your mouth.

I still have nightmares of motorcycles at night in the jungle and the big wall with holes in it.

The cancelled both SG1 and SGA to make SGU a reality?

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that the people that think it sucked so much that I should shut my whore mouth:

1) Watched it back when it was airing weekly
and
2) Are upset that it's not "deserving" of being part of the Stargate franchise, ie they'd hate it less if it was called something like Destiny and had no impact on the rest of the SG franchise.

I binged it over a few weeks. This wouldn't be the first show that's better on a binge. The people that have binged Lost seem to have much less of a problem with it than the people that devoted 6 years to it. And no, I'm not comparing SGU to Lost, just saying that binging can change your outlook on a series.

Plenty of people loved Lost while it aired. Almost nobody loved this midden heap while it aired.

No, even if it was called Destiny in another fictional universe it still would have been polluted with boring crew rebellions and uninteresting lead characters.

but it did. So are we to riddle our board recommendations with if this wasn't part of a multi show mythos, you might only nearly die from boredom as opposed to almost 100% certainty you will die from boredom?

Should we always have to take in unknown hypotheticals before ripping garbage to shreds?

One can never forget those. Still can't believe someone thought that would be a good idea.

I'm on Season 5 Ep1 of SG1 right now.

I'll probably restart SGA later.

I'm saying the connection to the Stargate franchise plays a part in why you have such passion against the show. This might be the most universally condemned scifi show on the board and considering the warning I got when I started the thread, you are probably the driving force behind that board think. So you didn't like it, that doesn't mean others can't. And I'm not saying you should like it or shouldn't warn others against it, I just think the board opinion is too strongly negative and needs to be tempered with another point of view.

I went against your recommendation and am not worse for it. Others might experience the same thing, so I thought this needed to be said.

Or maybe I just want to watch the world burn.

"So, we need a way for them to communicate with earth. Ideas?"

"What about alien tech that lets you project a hologram? That would be cool."

Producer: "Ohhh...not in the budget. Too much CGI. We need low tech ideas, people."

Janitor with pedo mustache emptying trash can: "What about stones that let you takeover another person's body so you can walk around and do things...yea, things."

Producer: "BRILLIANT!"

I kind of want to watch it just because of what yall have said about the rape stones. It seems like it might be a so bad it's good kind of thing.

I know this show gets a lot of grief but I recently checked it out and really liked it. They took some chances creatively and probably went over a lot of audiences' heads, but it was well done and smart. I think most of the harshest critics just didn't get the show.

Sure. Riding motorcycles on unpaved jungle at night is the height of intelligence.

Along with a wall that had gaps big enough for human eating dinosaurs to get through.

Just admit you liked a crappy show. Own it. Don't pull out the ridiculous "it was too smart" defense of crap.

Look dude, you just didn't get it, and that's fine. Some people read Moby Dick and don't see anything but a whale, others can find countless layers of meaning. Different strokes and all that, but don't get mad at the writers for being too intelligent. That kind of attitude gave us the Kardashian craze.

I will sometimes just randomly bring up SGU and Terra Nova because I enjoy watching Myth melt over them.

Hey. I wouldn't mind a mini-series to wrap up SGU. I'm interested to see the ending.

Nova not so much. Most people on here lost interest in even making fun of the show it was so bad.

Just pulled this gem from Bard from the Nova thread about the finale....

I'm going to do my best to channel TigerMyth36 on this, but it will probably be about as good as an episode of Cop Rock (/disclaimer)

This episode had to be the best of the season thus far, but then again that's like being the slimmest kid at fat camp. You're still at fat camp because you're fat just like how this show still sucks balls. This episode just sucked them a little less.
