Watched it about a month ago. Just think the second one is worse than the phantom menace.

I just realized it. That picture looks a lot like someone I went to high school with.

But on a more serious note, let's do have an Original trilogy rematch together. Maybe every Wednesday starting this week? Aim to start at 7:30 Central Time? That could be fun!

Phantom Menace is easily the best of the prequels. Second one is some of the worst shite ever put on film.

I will be getting to the original trilogy next week. Everyone already agreed to this so let's go ahead and do what's in the manual.

While I think Sith is better simply due to the Emperor's presence, the opening, and Order 66 sequence (save for Anakin butchering children), Phantom Menace I agree is far superior to Episode II. Episode I is a mediocre kids movie that is very passable at parts, particularly the Podrace sequence.

Every scene in Attack of the Clones is a disaster and is truly a horrible movie. Anakin and Padme's romance may be the worst ever put to film, the entire plot of the Clone Wars makes it a worthless war with clones vs droids, Anakin is a mass murdering psychopath from the start, they destroy Boba Fett's character by making him a clone of all the Stormtroopers, and what they do with Yoda completely shits on everything we learned in Empire.

Unlike say Jar Jar and trade disputes, this is the entire film. You can salvage some things from Episode I with a talented screenwriter, but you have to completely start from scratch when doing this turd.

I missed the memo on this. What are the times?

Two a week. Monday and Friday. Except Return of the Jedi on a Wednesday. People should join in if they can but if not, just commenting is fine. Attire will be business casual. Come hungry because our chefs are already working on the cinema themes cuisine now.

I concur - Send in the Clones is worse than The Cartoon Menace.

Sadly, I must also agree that Revenge of the Whiny-arse Punk who claims to be Darth Vader, but is, in fact, not is the "best" of the three, but a highly dubious distinction, similar to being the "best" athlete at the special Olympics or the "best" rapper.

I don't see how anyone could argue that the second one isn't the worst.

There's not a redeeming moment in that whole film.

Agree to disagree. Episode II is horrible. Episode I is a special kind of horrible. It has no protagonist and it is completely irrelevant to the plot of the other five films. The entire plot of Episode I could have been aluded to by members of the Jedi in Episodes II and III (very similar to how Lucas feed us backstory in Episode IV.)

The Jedi arena battle at the end was pretty cool. Lots of scenes take place on Coruscant. The Naboo waterfall scene had good music. That's about it.

For me that's a point in Episode I's favor. I can completely ignore it. Episode II, not so much. It's the entire context for Anakin's character and the relationship between him, Obi Wan, and Padme, as well as the context behind the Empire's formation and the Clone Wars. Episode III tries to make up for these things, but it's too little too late. In order for us to buy Anakin being a good person, he doesn't mass murder people on a whim. Episode II should have been Episode I (severely changed of course), the second one should be the absolute low point in the war where we actually see how the Galaxy is affected by the Clone Wars, and Episode III being its end and Palpatine getting complete control while the rest of the Galaxy despairs. It just really feels as if a movie is missing in the prequels and it's because Episode I adds nothing to the story.

Yeah, no way I can make that time, not to mention on a Friday. Watching Star Wars movies isn't usually how I want to end my workweek.
