It's time, boys and girls.
Keep it spoiler free, don't mention the leaks either or their validity status after viewing the film.

Star Wars isn’t for nerds but people get nerdy about it
Star Trek is for nerds but now they’re making it for everyone and it sucks

I'm sure it will have flaws but I expect it to be better than "bleh"
I have the same expectation as I did for The Force Awakens, enjoyable, with nice action, good characters and some cringe worthy one-liners.
I think people forget these movies are meant for FUN

They say that about those marvel movies though and they’re not fun. I fricking hate them
They are just all over the place with tone and everything looks fake

The Marvel MCU is basically modern day Star Wars

It’s possible for a movie to be fun without being a joke. Episode 4 and 5 pull this off perfectly.

it's fine in a movie like guardians of the galaxy. it fits with the tone. it's a light hearted comedy adventure.
but when a movie wants me to take it seriously and then pulls out the fricking gags...something can be both thoughtful and fun. I don't think many directors take these big budget films seriously at all. you can have humor, but you have to be careful about it.
