Rey was certainly my favorite character in the movie, and I think most people agree.
Poe was the best new character.

It was sort of a rhetorical question. I think it showed both.

So it's not impossible.

Perhaps most revealing is the fact that Kylo saw her dreams involved a vast ocean with an island - which is geographically consistent with Luke's location at the end of the film.
but wasn't kylo there training? and he killed everyone who wasn't on his side? how did he not recognize her or not remember one slipped through?

Stormtroopers are notoriously terrible at what they do. no comparison to unsullied
No, they just always looked like shite because they were going up against Han Solo. They were pretty badass in the prequels. They only started sucking when Han showed up

All Poe did was be good at point and shoot. Hardly the best "character"

no it's not, and i should be mindful b/c a robot having a broken heart isn't possible either
yet we saw just that

i have no clue what poe added other than being a cocky ethnic white guy
on that note, let me add the space battles sucked arse. the prequels actually did that a lot better

He was good the first 15 minutes until they ignored him for most of the film.

Droids haven't had personalities before?

I'm starting to think you are too harsh a critic when it comes to movies

where would he develop this morality? how would he have any sort of a moral compass or understand what "good" even is?
I can see how that would be innate instinct of someone not to butcher clear innocents.

you have to think of him like an unsullied from GOT. he knows nothing other than service, and that service is as a solider
Well, he certainly wasn't put through that intense of training, but even if he was, I could see one Unsullied having a problem with what he was doing and simply not go through with it.
Posted on 12/19/15 at 9:03 pm to GeauxxxTigers23
He was running around or flying around shooting for 15 minutes. That's it.

Poe for me
Poe was the most fun for sure, but that still makes my point that people are talking more about the new than old characters here.

Now you're complaining about the battles?!? WTF SFP?!?!?

He did recognize her. He knows exactly who she is.
Either she wasn't around when Kylo went on his killing spree, or he decided to spare her.

Yeah, he should have had a bigger role. Maybe a scene where there's a passing of the torch from Han to Poe. Maybe he gives him command of the Millennium Falcon before going to face his son in a desperate attempt to bring him back but knowing he probably wouldn't make and even if he did, knowing that his days doing the Kessel run in the falcon were done.

This isn't a coincidence - she either has some type of strong connection to Luke, or she's been to that island before when she was younger.
Or she's just super powerful with the Force. Jedi and Sith throughout the series caught glimpses of the future and past.
One of the themes was that Rey was a lot of untrained ability in the Force. Ren being able to read those thoughts in her subconscious makes sense.

well 2 do
but R2 wasn't even chilling with Luke in ROTJ. add in all the time luke was away b/w ESB and ROTJ and R2 probably spent as much time with leah as luke
