I enjoyed the red herring aspect to him. They can explore it in the next movie if they want, but Snoke and Luke aren’t the main story in this trilogy and never were. It’s the Kylo/Rey story

But the prequels were actually less bloated and less frustrating to watch. And they didn’t ruin anything.

I disagree here because midichlorians.

I don’t think Johnson/Disney wanted to have Luke die a “violent” death

Well, he wouldn't die a violent death. He'd kill everyone on the AT-ATs. It would be awesome.

I don't have a problem with the Finn sub plot, I do have problem with the fact that he didn't die but instead was saved by this new chick who is kind of a child.

Also, do we ever get an explanation on the dice? It seemed to be an important part of the story but it only shows up in the final scenes.

The dice first appeared in “A New Hope,” the first “Star Wars” movie released, in the cockpit of the Falcon. The small dice can be seen hanging above the characters and glinting in the scenes in which the Falcon is drawn into the Death Star. Nobody mentions the dice and they never are part of the story — in fact, they never even appear in the Falcon again in the original trilogy. They dice are gone from the Falcon in both “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi.” In a nod to the original film, though, the dice reappeared in “The Force Awakens” when Han finds the Falcon again after having lost it some time earlier.

So the gold dice are a a memento of Han, although an underplayed one. According to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary,” the dice were used in a game called “Corellian Spike,” which is a card game played with dice (and a variation of “Sabacc,” a game that’s been part of the “Star Wars” universe for years in comics, noves and video games). Han got these particular dice from a special night of gambling — they were the dice that helped Han win the Millennium Falcon from Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams), an event alluded to in “The Empire Strikes Back.”

While the dice haven’t appeared much in the movies, there’s a lot of weight instilled in them by ancillary “Star Wars” material. The dice were referenced in novels and comics in the years before Disney purchased Lucasfilm and reset the “Star Wars” canon. In “The Last Jedi,” what started as a bit of set dressing that came to become a piece of Han Solo’s background has become a major item that’s close to the movie’s characters.

They were in ANH, when the gang boards the Millenium Falcon for the first time.

Did you actually expect these characters to live?

Yes. Luke is probably only 50ish. Same for Leia when she eventually dies. Han couldn't have been too much older. Average life span is close to 80, and Obi lived to 70-80

They just killed them off so they could continue their SJW plan. Its become the Ghostbusters remake

Everybody’s bitching about Snoke but what did we really know about the Emporer when the OT ended?

Also lol at everyone trusting that Kylos words to Rey while trying to seduce her to his side are trustworthy. They probably aren’t. And even if they are, this could very well be Kylo’s story in the end anyway.

There’s a much more straight ahead version of the B-Plot that gets the valuable point they were making across and makes this movie exceptional. Not every wise-arse has a heart of gold, not every half-assed plan works.

That and Finn actually sacrificing himself would have turned this movie into a really great one. His arc is over. He was a deserter and a coward who found what he wanted to fight for and he should have died for it.

Not the best Star Wars movie ever, but it certainly wasn’t some betrayal of the franchise.

Really hope Rose dies tbh, don't want her to have any part in the next film. Going to be interesting to see what Abrams does with thid.

This new trilogy was always going to be about the new characters. It sounds like you just wanted the original trilogy again. And, Luke is dead, but we all know he'll still have a role in Episode IX

The heavy handed diversity isn’t why the movie sucks but reviews are slanted because of it

The defense of this turd is as follows

1. It’s too smart for you...that’s a laugher
2. Diversity, diversity, diversity
3. People hate new things
4. People are haters

No one is defending the movie by pointing out why it’s good because it’s not

BTW, y'all caught that Rey saved the Jedi texts, right? They were in a drawer on the Falcon as the Rebels left the mining planet.

We had a semblance of hope we would find out because we started with episode 4.

Snoke better not be dead.
The dude is so mangled and scarred, I’m sure darth plagues has healed and resurrected himself before and can do it again.
