While not a very creative way to destroy it, I always enjoyed the Enterprise D blows up sequence.

Plus it gave us this:

I remember being amazed when they destroyed the Enterprise in ST III. They did a good job with the shot of the crew looking at the remains of the Enterprise entering the atmosphere of the Genesis planet.

Perhaps corny, but when Kirk says "my god, bones, what have I done?" I have always loved his response. "What you had to do, what you always do. Turn death into a fighting chance to live."

There were some good lines from those old ST movies.

The environmental undertones of ST IV for example:

Spock: To hunt a species to extinction is not logical.
Dr. Gillian Taylor: Whoever said the human race was logical?

Kirk and Scotty's tour of the New Enterprise (still the most beautiful spaceship I've ever seen)

Spock takes Kirk's hand in sickbay to explain about V'ger: "This simple feeling is beyond V'ger's comprehension."

Kirk and Spock's days=hours code to outwit Khan.

Spock's death and funeral.

"Jim... Your name is Jim."

The dialogue (dueling monologues at times) between Kirk and Spock at the climax of The Naked Time (TOS) - Shatner's over the top acting style was perfect, and Nimoy (still early in the character - this was, production wise, Nimoy's 8th episode with the character) was perfect in his tortured, half-Human, half-Vulcan struggle brought to the surface. It's tough to top that one.

Spock melding with the Horta in The Devil in the Dark (TOS) - brilliant. Great moments by Kirk and McCoy around the edge of that scene, too.

The entire episode, The City on the Edge of Forever (TOS) is a work of art. As is Balance of Terror (TOS).

TWOK is a great film, regardless of series, regardless of genre - probably my third favorite movie of all time.

There's a great moment in Star Trek III where the shot up enterprise pulls into a spaceport and all the people are gasping at it.

All good ones mentioned so far. Other than every scene in The Wrath of Khan, I have to go with this exchange between Picard and the towns people in The Inner Light:

quote:

Batai: We hoped our probe would encounter someone in the future. Someone who could be a teacher. Someone who could tell the others about us.

Capt. Picard: Oh... Oh, it's me... Isn't it? I'm the someone. I'm the one it finds. That's what this launching is. A probe that finds me, in the future.

And only slightly below that is

quote:

There... are... *four*... lights!

While I like Star Trek IV - it ignores a couple of points. Kirk and Spock were not complete novices when it comes to automobiles and 20th Century traffic.

In addition to Kirk's poor driving in A Piece of the Action, they witnessed a fatal motor vehicle accident in the 1930s during the events of The City on the Edge of Forever. So, they were aware of the realities of motor vehicles, traffic and associated dangers to pedestrians.

Almost every line Nimoy delivers in this episode is memorable.
