I am not going to say it is impossible to recreate the magic but Squid Game dropped into the perfect storm for a viral sensation.

Would these be seasons based on the main character who became a full-on purple haired sjw at the end of s1 - and his fight against evil white gay American rich guys?
I'll pass. It was a fun little TV novel, but the story just doesn't have enough to continue being good. It's just a Battle Royale variant, really, and not even that had a good sequel.

I couldn’t get past the 2nd episode. I thought it was dumb

that's surprising considering the support behind Stranger Things.

I’m assuming Netflix spent less to make Squid Game then some of their bigger products like The Crown, Stranger Things, Bridgerton, etc. So the others might make some money, but not so much that it overwhelmingly offsets costs.

I mean I could see that being true if seasons 2 and 3 had as many viewers as season 1 but that's going to be extremely hard to accomplish.

I’ve been wanting to rewatch SG lately. May have to do that based on this thread. Do they have any idea when S2 will come out? Feels like it’s been forever since the first season.

Its whatever
First season was good for what it was. Will probably kinda be like tiger King, nogaf anymore by season 2 post-pandemic

I actually started a rewatch this AM. I finished 3 episodes and it is surprisingly rewatchable IMO. There are a lot of little details I either missed or forgot possibly because knowing the ending they stand out more than they did on the first watch.
I am interested in season 2 but not sure it will hold peoples attention nearly as well but I hope I am wrong.

Stupid show.
Waste of time.
Bailed after the 2nd episode.

I fast forwarded through most of it, but finished the series.
Do not see how it can come close to recapturing the perfect storm season 1 was.
While the premise was unique, the quality of acting was sub-par
