Coach and Mrs. Taylor have the single best depiction of marriage in TV history. They are the rock upon which the show is built, and while I hesitate to say they have an arc, as they do stay pretty much the same, the show was at its best when it showed how the two of them reacted to every problem.

This is so true. Loved the way they interacted.

Street was a shitty character, plain and simple. When the show was great it focused on Saracen and his relationships, the marriage of the Taylors, and then on Vince and his relationships. When the show was bad, it focused on gimmicky sideshows, like a murder, or an adopted kid, or a guy getting paralyzed because he's an idiot that somehow never learned to tackle in PeeWee.

Add in the camp and hilarity of the awkward friend (Landry) and the brooding bad arse (Riggins), and you have a great show. But they must only be add-ins. Landry can't carry the show and neither can Riggins. And unfortunately, Riggins gets dragged down by the horrendous Jason Street storylines (e.g. shark's blood and stem cells, house flipping, becoming an agent, etc.).

I can't watch any of the scenes with Street in them I hated that character so much. My favorite storyline was the maturation of Vince and his relationship with his mother. One of my favorite scenes was when they were going to the state championship and Vince got off the bus wading through the crowd to find his mom. It's about time for me to binge watch the show again

I'm in the middle of season 5. This is like the 6th time I've binge watched this series.

Or how Coach Taylor up and up left his coaching job at TMU because Buddy Garrity said that Dillon needed him back
That's not why Taylor left.

Riggens was the character on the show that you had to feel for the most. Guy that always had good intentions but couldn't catch a break. He was only character that was tied into everyone else on show.

I felt bad for him when he saved Julie's life from the tornado and then that bitch threw him under the bus when Coach Taylor caught Tim helping her drunk arse get in bed.

Between that, going to prison, brother banging his neighbor he liked, having no family other than said brother, he had it pretty bad. Still a great character.

Haha. Very true. Guess they had to throw him a bone every so often. I would trade some prison time for that..

The writers strike really hurt the show and the airing on direct tv first.

Santiago
Landry
Christian boyfriend of lylas that disappeared
Smash williams going from 5 star to a 2 star

Any other Buddy G fans? I was trying to tell my lady friend that he was my favorite character, and she got all pissy.

Jason Street was a terrible human being.

I kinda enjoyed the challenge of Coach Taylor turning around the ghetto school.

Can we get a ranking on FNL women?
Options are
Tammy T (my personal fave)
Layla
Julie
Tyra

Yea I think it was season 2. He hooks up with the hot neighbor a few times and then she says he is to young for her. So she moves on to the brother.. Classy move ha
