They need to have a “no politics” rule at the show. Force them to be funny without leaving on that tired arse crutch.

Isn't Lorne completely apolitical? Jim Breuer on Rogan described him as "very conservative"

I would find that very hard to believe

Lorne should have declared this, the 50th season, the final season. A-List Celebs would have cannibalized each other to host. Also, the biggest legacy musical acts would have lined up to perform. Would have been a ratings bonanza and he would have gone out on top.

He started this show as an opposition to the kind of stuff Carol Burnett was doing. Would have been fitting to have her as the final host.

Dr Evil was based on Lorne

He has always been waaaaaaay apolitical. The left hates him for it.

Once it became just another part of the DNC propaganda wing, it became unfunny.

The one constant in life is always hearing SNL currently sucks but it was great way back when b/c everyone seems to memory hole how many god awful skits there have always been on a show that has to come up w/weekly sketches.

Might be something there.

The golden age was definitely the first several years and the silver age was the Carvey era.

But the dud skits from that era are long forgotten and we remember the home runs.

It should end after this season. It has been dead for awhile. Fifty is a nice even number. Bring back the past cast and musical acts for one last hurrah.

Thats been the presuming thought/rumor out there for a while.

Keenan has literally been in sketch comedy his entire life.
