Didn’t he make the whole thing up (the part where he said the dog made him do it)? At least that’s what the show mindhunter said about that.

Summer of Sam is one of Spike's best, too, for those interested in the topic/era.

Just started Episode 2, so they haven't really explored beyond the familiar stuff yet. Pretty grisly footage tho. Hope this doesn't devolve into another Netflix paper-thin "documentary" that could've been told in 15 minutes (as opposed to 4 one-hour eps), because it seems pretty interesting so far.

I was 10 years old and living on Long Island at the time of the murders, so I definitely remember the fear, as well as all the sensory overload from the newspaper headlines. NYC was a pretty sleazy place at the time, as evidenced by the fact it took several murders before anyone noticed anything unusual, lol...

Watching now

It’s keeping my attention, but it is starting to feel like we’re already at the conclusion after 30 minutes and it’s all fluff to fill out time.

Also I’m a bit torn on the mixed narration. Part of me atleast respects that they are putting their own narrative bias front and center, but it also feels cheesy at times and also makes it really hard to trust everything I’m hearing because it’s clear what he believes to be the case from the first minute, so some things feel like him just confirming what he already believes

The 3rd episode feels like the documentary version of 8MM with Nic Cage

I really liked it. Can't wait to find out someday that these Satan Worshippers had a member with the initials HRC.

Prior to watching this it seemed likely he wasn't the only one involved. sketches and eye witness descriptions all over the place. He's a shite bag nonetheless.

Spike Lee? The racist that hasn't made a decent film in decades? That kind of recognition?

Not familiar with the series since I cancelled NF. However, is it about the secret cult Berk was supposedly a part of? If so, that theory has been floating around since at least the 80's. I don't buy it, tbh.

It's possible Berk had one friend who went along with him (as one witness described), but I think the whole organized cult thing is dumb.

Just finished it. I don't know if all of Terry's theories are indisputable, but damn, overall he looks pretty smart in hindsight (the final scene seemed like a big "FU, I told you so" to the police from his grave).

Ironically, his reputation getting destroyed was alot of his own doing by appearing on all those trashy talk shows, sensationalizing the very case he was working on.

After watching the old news clips in this doc, it reminded me that even without Twitter, Facebook, and cable news, back then the media was just as scummy as it is now, lol...
