Just amazing to me that they would take a loved villain from the comic book and totally crap on him. Some moron didn't want a movie with the main villain having mystical powers so instead we get fire breathing humans? So much more believable.

Pft, fire breathing isn't something I'd want to use in a battle with fricking armored suits(who apparently all break easier than a Mr. Potato Head. ) I'd just show it off and then put it in my pocket and never use it again.

I agree that Bane in DKR is not comparable with Mandarin in IM3 but Bane is definitely not always hired help.

In his introductory story, which had elements included in DKR, he was the mastermind. Knightfall

Maybe not always, but Bane doesn't really have world/city altering plans besides taking out Batman. There was clearly someone above him, and he had a reason besides Batman for doing what he was doing.

In the animated and film world he's always been much more of a thug than head guy. On the comic side he's much more like what we were led to believe he was in most DKR.

Yeah no shite. Was stark outsourcing his shite to China? Those suits were getting crushed with ease.

I feel like you say this about a lot of movies.

IM3 is not that bad but the worst out of the iron man trilogy, IMO. Iron Man was great.

DKR- Bane is awesome in Knightfall.
Spoilers following -

Kntfall doesn't work without JP Valley. Bane is never defeated by something worse, and we never see or feel the Redemption/Reclaiming of Batman by Wayne.
Movie tries with to do this with the prison escape but it is not nearly enough. The movie completely craps the bed with no passing of the mantle in the middle, but then tacks it on at the end. Just for an escape to tie things up.
These writers tried to stay a little honest to Knightfall, but changed the story too much for it to work.

IM3- the Mandarin & Extremis both have huge story/plot lines. The writers took both of these subjects and twisted, distorted, butchered, and ruined them to make them fit their movie. The end result is a turd. DKR is a disappointment.
IM3 is a turd.

You would think that the writers could figure out how not to rewrite stories that have already been proven to work. Hell, there are plently of GD stupid plots between marvel and DC.
Screw those up instead.

We're also forgetting two helicopters is all one really needs to completely frick iron Man's world up. And as if the entire world didn't already know the address of the smartest/richest man on Earth? Then said man has a thousand fricking suits but not one form of protection for his home?

frick that shitty fricking movie.

What works in a comic doesn't necessarily work in a movie. John Blake couldn't have possibly taken up the mantle of Batman while Bruce Wayne was in exile. He was a cop with very little fighting skills, whereas Bruce Wayne had spent at least a few years with the League of Shadows perfecting his fighting abilities. And lastly, Knightfall was merely one of a few inspirations for The Dark Knight Rises. No Man's Land and The Dark Knight Returns also contributed themes and plot points to the final form of the film.

Anyways...my biggest problem with the twist involving The Mandarin and Aldrich Killian is the biggest problem I am starting to have with the Iron Man franchise. Instead of giving Tony Stark his biggest baddest baddie to fight in Iron Man 3, something comic book nerds and fans of the character had been excited about since the first trailer was released, the filmmakers decided to give us another rich, white industrialist who has a beef with Tony Stark. Jeff Bridges, Sam Rockwell, and Guy Pearce all play slighted billionaires who concoct convoluted schemes to bring down the CEO of Stark Industries. Come up with something new and original for a change.

Stark fighting herpes would have been more interesting than this plot line.

First, my sensibilities were extremely offended by a british actor being cast as the mandarin. Then I get into the movie and i'm like whoa, Ben Kingsley pulls this off. I got past the fact that a british person was cast to play the mandarin. Then the crap about him just acting. Was not a huge fan of how IM3 dealt with the Mandarin. I also echo issues with a helicopter taking out stark's house but he has all those suits that apparently can fight a bunch of armed guards and a bunch of extremis humans but not guard the house.

No reason. Turrible writing.

Wanted to introduce a young character to indoctrinate younger viewers into the IM universe for toy sales.

He couldn't get the other suits out until the rubble was cleaned off his tunnel.

Me and my wife watched it last night .

I was very excited for it!!.....

But that was the worst marvel film by far!!! Tony was hardly iron man. Completely ruined his best villain by making him a actor!?! Wtf?!
How come his suit is nearly indestructible and can withstand space coldness. But gets tore apart with ease?

And what about Killian? Was he wolverine or T-1000? He couldn't be destroyed, but all the others could? Why was that, they didn't explain how he was stronger than the others, farted flames, and could regrow any part of his body? Why?

Also, why didn't Jon Farveu direct it?!

it was ok but with the amount of iron mans he created you think they could make it alittle more like iron man 1 and 2. Look people want to see iron man going in and being cocky and blowing things up. No the stuff we saw in this movie.

spoilers

WTF was up with that ending. Are they really closing out the iron man series?
